5 out of 5 starsThe submarine idea was discussed for several days. Then the artist disappeared. Finally, I was notified that it was made and though I hadn't planned on buying, I couldn't help myself! It was sent the same day I purchased it. Now I must decide if I'm keeping it or gifting it to my Dad, the retired Submariner. :)

First Sunday Art Show in Annapolis
Recycling vintage watches into timeless pieces of art
I am an artist living in the DC area since 2008. During normal times I exhibit my artwork in Art Shows around MD, DC, PA, VA, NY. Unfortunately, the pandemic has hugely disrupted these activities and I am trying to establish an online presence to connect with art lovers.
I would like to share the backstory of my pieces. The process starts by disassembling antique watches, they are full of tiny gears that start re-assembling in my mind, taking a different shape and growing into an art piece that will guarantee them a second life.
What will they become? The gears found in the antique watches inspire me to capture the movement and the exquisite intricacy in automobiles and other machines. And over the years this evolved to a new line featuring Musical Instruments. I have always admired the aesthetics of musical instruments and I combined the notion that the time - tempo - in music sets the mood of a piece, to create musical instruments with watch parts. But every piece tells a story and every piece is unique. What I see might not be the same you see!
The whole process takes time. I usually first choose the design, something that I like or a request from a customer. Then it is time to find the watches, and let the creative process begin! It is a lot of fun to do, and I immensely enjoy working on the small details. I frame the pieces myself in a way that I think highlights the details and the texture of the piece. The final product is an elegant piece of timeless art.
