About

A love affair with the old and strange.

I've always love vintage and historical silhouettes- I spent hours upon hours as a child drawing the styles of every decade. Selling vintage clothing allows me to explore and learn even more about historical fashion, plus it's a flexible job that leaves room for my art practice as a performance artist and painter.

I'm an visual artist with a passion for vintage everything! I live in in a 100-year-old farmhouse painted atomic yellow with my husband Mike, who is a talented sculptor. Living in rural Kansas is quite wonderful (some may be surprised!)

Frequently asked questions

Will this vintage clothing item fit me?

Always use the measurements to determine the fit of vintage clothing! You may compare the measurements of the garment to your own measurements- if the fabric is not stretchy remember to add an inch or two for comfort. Even better is to compare the measurements of the garment to well-fitting garment of your own that is similar in cut and fabric. Remember to use a flexible tape measure when taking your measurements!

These measurements are confusing! Can you give me more information on your measurements?

Some items in my shop give the full measurements but older listings use the "flat lay" system where you double everything but the length. All measurements are in inches and garments are measured as follows unless otherwise noted:

shoulder: seam to seam
bust: across the armpits
waist: usually at the narrowest part or natural waist
hip: usually at the fullest part: 9 to 10 inches below natural waist
length: shoulder to hem (dresses, tops, coats)
rise: waist to crotch with front and back waistband lined up (pants)
inseam: from crotch to cuff (pants, shorts, rompers)

Feel free to message me for additional measurements or clarifications!

May I reserve an item? Do you accept trades?

I will mark an item as reserved for you for up to one week, if you are sure about the purchase. I reserve the right to refuse to hold certain items. Please convo me to request a reserve. At this time I do not accept trades.

Can you accommodate rush orders?

I can often process rush orders- please contact me before or at the time of purchase if you need an item by a certain date (even if it's a week or two in the future, just in case!) If for any reason I can't ship your item quickly enough I will let you know and issue a full refund if you wish. TIP: send a separate conversation about your rush order in addition to using the "note to buyer" section of the invoice, so I'll be sure to see it quickly!

Can I order a certain item in a different size, color, or quantity?

All my items are vintage (pre-owned and at least 20 years old) and normally I have only the unique item in the listing, so I'm not able to provide variations or multiples of any item.

What does vintage condition mean?

All items in my shop are vintage and pre-owned, and small signs of wear are considered normal. Additionally vintage items may pick up a light odor from being stored for many years- anything worse will be taken care of before shipment. Any noticeable flaws will be mentioned in the item description but small and unnoticeable irregularities / signs of wear are part of unique nature of vintage clothing! Cleaning is up to the buyer. Always convo me with questions about condition or anything else!

Care Instructions for Vintage Clothing

Please treat vintage clothing with gentle care! The best cleaning method varies depending on the fabric and age of the item. Depending on the item dry cleaning, hand washing, or machine washing on a gently cycle may be appropriate. Some vintage items should never get wet, even to spot treat. For information on any specific item just send me a convo and I'll be happy to offer advice, but I can't guarantee the safety or effectiveness of any cleaning method.

I'm buying from outside the US- does shipping cover customs fees or VAT charges?

The shipping cost for any order from outside the US only covers my cost of shipping the order from the US Post Office. Customs fees or VAT charges/taxes are added once the item arrives in the country of destination and are NOT included in the shipping cost you pay at the time of purchase. Expect to pay an additional fee at your customs office once your order arrives. Information on when taxes or fees are added and how much they will be can be found online- look for the official website of the postal service of your country.

Information on shipping insurance and filing a claim

All orders from my shop are shipped with insurance, whether international or domestic (I'm located in the US). If an item is lost or damaged in the mail I will be happy to assist in filing for an insurance claim. The insurance claim will go directly to the buyer and I will not be able to provide a refund, store credit, or replacement item before it is accepted. I will not provide a refund, store credit, or replacement item in the event an insurance claim is denied. Keep in mind that if an order is lost after being marked as "delivered" it will usually not be covered by insurance.

Additional information on returns and refunds

Buyers must follow returns policy outlined above in order to be eligible for a return. Returns will not be accepted if I have not been contacted within 14 of delivery, and/or if the returned item is not postmarked within 21 days of delivery.

If an item is returned to me by a postal service or customs office due to incorrect address, failure to claim package, failure to pay VAT fees or other taxes, or for other reasons for which the buyer is responsible, my return policy outlined above will not apply unless the buyer manages to comply with the conditions of the return policy. In these instances a refund will be issued for the full purchase price only (not original shipping), provided the item arrives in its original condition.
