Announcement   At Rendered Impressions, you will find a collection of original fine art oil paintings with a focus on plein air landscapes and alla prima still life's. Every painting is an original, one of a kind work of art. It's important to me to offer only my original paintings as I think the experience with an original work of art is unique and very rewarding.

I chose the name Rendered Impressions for my shop because I think it describes what I do as a painter. I "render impressions" and my experience with the subject. My hope in giving back to the world as an artist and painter aligns at the core with the sentiments expressed in the following quote.

"When we feel most alone, most abandoned and out of sorts, the simple forms of beauty can remind our eyes of the worlds unity, and our place with in it." Anonymous

Many of the landscape paintings feature areas in New Jersey and Pennsylvania and are almost exclusively painted "en plein air" which in French and means "in the open air". This was a popular form of painting during the 19th century Impressionist movement where the artists aimed to capture the natural light of the moment. Although my work has moved a way from a largely impressionist influence plein-air painting still lends itself to capturing nature spontaneously. It is a challenging yet rewarding experience that allows me to bring something extra to the canvas.

I also love painting still life's. Flowers, fruit, vegetables and vintage or handmade wares peak my interest when putting together a set-up. I tend to focus on this genre of painting primarily during winter when going outside isn't as easy. Although at times I can still be found bundled up out in the snow with a small thermos of hot chocolate!

It's great to have you visit and I hope you consider the gift of art as part of your gift giving repertoire. There are many special moments and opportunities to give an original painting as an expression of your love and gratitude. I hope you look around and find that special something here.

Feel free to contact me with any questions.

Thank you!

A view into my workspace/studio. I have many outdoor studio spaces all courtesy of Mother Nature. This was a beautiful spot to create from.
Where inspiration begins! A photo reference of the actual set up I painted from. I like to keep these as a record.
SOLD! A touch of art adds warmth and character to your country home.

About

The Evolution of a Painter

My shop started as a way to share my paintings and put myself "out there".

Over the past few years I have been enjoying the process of re-training myself as an artist/painter. This is something I loved so much in college as I pursued art as a major.

It's been through personal loss that I have become more aware of the creator in me and her constant voice. Equally pivotal has been learning how to face the fear that kept me from fully listening to the artist inside. Maybe that's part of the aging process...I'm not really sure and I guess it doesn't really matter because I am listening now and taking a risk on a heart felt passion.

Etsy has been one way for me to explore and develop myself. Sharing my paintings and artwork here is an opportunity to affirm my creative voice and honor the painter inside. Entering shows and exhibits are alternative venues where I explore the same.

Mindful that my growth is contingent upon challenging my comfort zone and trusting the process that comes with sharing my work whether people resonate with it or not keeps me in the moment and moving forward.

Right now, I enjoy the intimacy of the small size paintings. I have some larger works that are more contemporary in my closet for another day. And I know there are more large scale paintings coming but I wait for the inner timing of those.

Working from life is a priority whether its a landscape, figure or still life. Freeing myself from a specific subject or "style" helps me tap into rendering paintings that seem to fit me, the subject and my experience with it at the moment.

This is a journey centered in love so I try to stay mindful of listening and being led. When I can do that the experience of painting teaches me so much about myself and about life. Perhaps at the core that's why I feel the need to do it.

Please keep coming back. I'm just getting started. Thank you!

To be an artist /painter was a dream of mine. Drawing and painting from early on were the spaces in which time would disappear. Hours felt like seconds as I immersed myself in the process of creating. Read full bio at www.catherinejmartzloff.com

Welcome to Rendered Impressions!

Looking for a unique gift? Consider the gift of an oil painting.

All of the artwork you see here is original. Most of my listings are oil paintings unless otherwise noted in the description and you will find a range of sizes.

I am pleased to have you here and welcome questions if you have them.

This is an exciting expedition for me and a wonderful opportunity to share my voice in a visually creative way with you. As a creative spirit I enjoy many artistic venues, however my most heart felt passion is painting.

Most of my paintings are done on "standard" size canvas or panels. Many I choose to paint on "Gallery Wrapped Canvas" where I pay attention to painting the sides as part of the entire picture. In this way the paintings may be hung without the need for a frame. Of course that is always an option for you once you have the piece.

Drawings are matted in a standard size as well so that you can purchase a stock frame from your local art/craft store and walk away with a beautiful piece of art.

Commission Paintings: If you are interested in something special, such as a landscape from a photograph you have taken etc. please contact me for further information.

**Note: I reserve the right to use images of any and all of my paintings and drawings as part of my professional portfolio.
