This purse is absolutely Gorgous! The shop owner not only sent me my purse I ordered but she made me a special gift which is to the right of the pic, she made me a beautifully hair clip to match the purse and which matches my outfit I sent her a picture of!!!! Not only that this was a clutch bag and I needed a body strap and she made me a long strap for the purse!!! This shop owner is amazing and her bags are quite beautiful! I will shop for my bags from this shop always! Thank you so very much for a wonderful special gift! What a great surprise I LOVE it!!!!!!!!!😘😇💕❤️

I'm in love with my new bag and am very excited to have it for my September wedding. Frances was great with communication and I will certainly purchase from her shop again.

About

Rescued Offerings - where the old and discarded, underused and forgotten - go to be reborn!

I upcycle & re-purpose the abandoned or cast-aside into great new gifts & personal items...Rescued Offerings - reducing our carbon foot print, one step at a time.

Because I work with repurposed, re-used, and re-loved items, I really never know what I will have to work with from one month or so, to the next! And that keeps the creativity hopping!

In the past, I have worked as a set designer, in the interior design field, in a tropical green house, at the IRS and currently as a (mostly roadway) infrastructure funding consultant. I grew up sewing in my mom’s drapery shop. When I was about 6, I had 2 siblings and my parents bought a 900 square foot home. By the time I moved out at age 17, the same house was about 3,500 square feet and I had 8 brothers and sisters! I can frame, sheet-rock, plaster and pour cement! I can also cook for a crowd and change a diaper in my sleep!

By choice and hard work, I am an Evolutionary Ecologist, and taught in an Austin, TX Community College for years. Through Biology, I have examined the world from the lens of high powered microscopes and from satellite imagery….. and I love the patterns and colors I have found with each. It is a truly magical world.

I am creative - but I do not know why or where it comes from. I have been asked to describe the creative process on several occasions and I really do not know what to say! ….my very best and honest answer is “it comes from desperation and not having what you think you need, from having to make do with what you have around you”.

I love old things! A lot. Some of the old things I end up with makes me cry…. I just can’t imagine someone’s mom or grandmother embroidering or quilting or tatting something and then it ending up in someone’s pile of stuff that they just want to get rid of. I gladly take this treasure. And word gets out…. I am now the repository for the discarded for many people.

I love to create! I love to make! I love to collect old buttons and tiny scraps of antique trim and cloth. I love fibers and yarn! I love paint and dyes! I love to read and I write.

I am a consummate rule-breaker who never lets NOT knowing the right way to do something, stand in the way of getting it done. I am the mom to a 21 y/o boy and 35 y/o girl and live with a wonderful guitar-playing botanist husband and 2 dogs.

Payment
We accept PayPal and personal checks. Payment should be received within 7 days of purchase commitment to avoid relisting of item. Unless otherwise stated, all items are made and ready to ship. We will ship no later than two days after PayPal payment or two days after your personal check has cleared our bank.
Shipping
We ship USPS First Class. Postage rates vary with size and weight of item. See Shipping information for each item listed.

If you require a more expedited shipping method, please contact us BEFORE paying for item so that we can adjust the invoice for your desired shipping method.

Because we offer a wide array of products, we cannot generalize “combined” shipping costs. Again, contact us BEFORE paying for your items so that we can calculate the cheapest shipping for you and adjust invoice accordingly.

If you have any other questions or concerns, please contact us.
Refunds and Exchanges
We are committed to your satisfaction and want you to be happy with your purchase. Within reason, most items can be returned if return-postmarked within 2 days of your receipt of goods. For full refund, item (s) must be in same condition as when shipped (not like folded perfectly but say if you return an apron that looks like it had a chili dog dropped on it … that would be a “different” condition). Initial shipping costs will not be refunded.
Additional policies and FAQs
We use a combination of high quality scanning and photography in an effort to best represent the color and nature of each product. Please remember that colors will change from monitor to monitor. If you need a very specific color match, contact us. We may have a scrap of fabric we can mail you.

Most of our stuff is one-of-a-kind because of the nature of our sources and our commitment to use items that are being discarded by others. However, we often have fabric, trim, beads, etc left over. If you see something you like but want it made a different way, contact us. We may be able to accommodate you.

Custom order inquiries are welcome.
