Maybe this should go without saying since I would’ve realized it if I thought about it for more than 2 seconds but these don’t work on hardback books. It’s not a problem with this product specifically or even really a problem at all, just something I realized after I bought and figured was worth mentioning. As soon as I started reading a paperback it worked great.
