ResponsibleWares' Shop Announcement

Responsible Wares strives to create ethically made easy to wear clothing, accessories, and home goods for everyday life. Each item is designed and handmade in the USA by Crystal Taylor. Responsible Wares embraces the Slow Design Movement. Most of the organic cotton fabrics used come from South Carolina, USA and their origins can be traced back to the original organic bale of cotton from which they were made. This is what Responsible Wares refers to as “Field to Product!” Other fabrics such as hemp, cotton reproduction prints, and lace make up some of my limited edition items from time to time as well.

The organic fabric from South Carolina, USA is produced in accordance with the American Organic Standards and the organic cotton yarn is certified by the Texas Department of Agriculture, Control Union, or other qualified accredible certifying bodies. The yarn spinner is certified to the Global Organic Textile Standards (GOTS).
I also offer items made with hemp fabric and other organic cotton woven fabrics not produced in the USA . I do purchase these from a GOTS Certified supplier.
These fabrics are considered limited edition, as I do not buy them in large quantities.

ORGANIC CERTIFICATION for my American Made Fabrics:
"The organic cotton yarn used in the production of organic cotton fabric is certified as 100% organic cotton by the Texas Department of Agriculture, Control Union, or other qualified accreditable certifying bodies. Our yarn vendor can produce traceability of their yarn from the organic cotton fiber bale number to the finished yarn size and lot number that we purchase. Furthermore, our yarn spinner is certified to the Global Organic Textile Standards (GOTS).
We can produce traceability from the yarn we purchase to the finished style and lot number that we produce. We process our fabric in accordance with the American Organic Standards."
In other words, the exact certification for each roll of fabric may differ slightly, but the organic cotton is all certified organic and is traceable back to the bale of cotton from which it was made! If desired, I could actually request the certification information for the fabric used for your garment (please allow 1-2 weeks for me to obtain the information).

If you see something in one fabric that you'd like to have in a different fabric, just send me a message and let me know.
Want to see how the colors can vary from dye lot to dye lot? I've compiled different pictures of my colors on my website:

Hand dying fabric is an art and there can be some variations from dye bath to dye bath.
