About Retro Girl Design
I've been creating ever since I was a little girl in the '70s when I got my Spirograph, Light-Bright, and Fashion Plates. My love of crafting began around the same time after my grandmother gave me my very first cross-stitch kit. It was then that I discovered my love of fiber art. I now create fun, retro, and sometimes unusual items using various craft methods, including crochet, hand sewing, and cross-stitch.
I have been so blessed to have had several of my fiber art projects and tutorials featured in the craft magazines, including Interweave Stitch Gifts.
I am very passionate about animal welfare, so I try to not use any animal fiber or products. I do have some yarn in my stash that is a wool blend, but I really try to only purchase and craft with acrylic, cotton, and synthetic yarns. I also mostly use Eco-Fi felt, which is made from recycled plastics.
When I'm not creating fiber art, I am writing (I'm currently working on my first cozy mystery novel) or rocking out to '80s music.
