About

Making beautiful jewellery from vintage and found things!

The Japanese have a principle called wabi-sabi, or finding the beauty in imperfect things. My shop is full of these types of things, I love making new things out of preloved items!

I started on Etsy by making felt food for a few years. It was pretty labour-intensive and then I decided to go into Theatre Costume studies. To fund that, and to satisfy the creative urge, I started making some items from found things like typewriter keys and mahjong tiles. I do markets in Sydney - sometimes, in between raising my daughters, working in the costume industry and making stuff.

Thank you for visiting! I love cute and quirky stuff, adore making beautiful things from found and rescued items. I'm located in Sydney, Australia.

Accepted payment methods

  • Accepts Etsy Gift Cards and Etsy Credits
Returns and exchanges
Refunds will be given in accordance with Etsy and PayPal policy. If you wish to return an item because it is faulty or damaged, please e-mail me first and we will work it out. I will refund on discretion for non delivery of items also, but not before 45 days have elapsed. Please email me if you are concerned about delivery times. I also refund for change of mind on non-custom orders, but please note that you will be responsible for return shipping costs.
Payment
Payment is due within 3 days of purchase. Items in stock will be shipped within 24 hours, unless you order over a weekend or public holiday. In this case items will be shipped on the next business day. If you are having problems paying, please contact me and we can work out part payments. Custom orders - I will email straight away outlining timeframes for you. Most items will take 24-48 hours to complete (in busy periods this may be more). Rest assured I will have your item/s ready as soon as humanly possible ('cos I am human!)
Shipping
Items will ship from Australia to overseas destinations by airmail. Most items will ship large letter rate by Australia Post. Please let me know if you require insurance or registration and I will happily add this for you and an extra fee will be charged for this service.
Please note that any customs charges are your responsibility and I will not mark items as "gifts" unless they are for charity purposes.
Please note I'm shipping from Sydney, Australia and airmail can take up to a month in busy periods. In line with most countries' postal policies, I don't consider a package lost until 45 days have elapsed. If you require tracking on your item, let me know prior to purchase and I can discuss costing with you and adjust pricing as needed. There are also shipping upgrades available at checkout.
Additional policies and FAQs
Due to the nature of many of my items, being vintage pieces which have been given new life, please understand you are not buying factory fresh, brand new items. Many items, especially the mahjong tiles and other game pieces used in my bracelets etc, have been loved and used. There may be scratches and minor imperfections. I like to think of them as old ladies who have lived well and loved lots. They still have life in them, and a whole lot of stories to tell! Lastly, please know that I'm human and mistakes happen. I will do my best to rectify any problems quickly. Communication is the key! I want all my customers to be happy.

Frequently asked questions

Custom and personalized orders

Do you do custom orders?
Yes, I am always happy to work with you to deliver a product you are happy with. Please send me a convo and I will be glad to work with you.

Sizing details

Most items I make are adjustable in some way. Detailed descriptions for each product will help you to determine if a piece will work for you. If you find the description doesn't answer your question, feel free to contact me through the convo system.

I have sensitive skin. Will your jewelry react with my skin?

I can't say for each individual if it will react to your skin type. I use the highest quality findings but there may be base metals involved which may cause irritation in some people. I have found that coating the piece (where it will be in contact with skin) with a clear nail polish to be very effective.
