What am I going to do with all of these patterns?

Mom was a part-time seamstress for at least 75 of her 84 years. Considering that she added on to her house and almost doubled the square footage in order to accommodate her sewing stuff, you can imagine how much fabric and number of patterns she left behind. This was the beginning.........

While Mom cornered the sewing in the household, I covered the knitting and crocheting, so you'll find patterns and supplies for these as well.

By nature, I'm holistic -- I see Big Pictures, e.g. if you're going to sew a fabulous, 1950s suit, you simply *must* have the proper hat, gloves, handbag, hankie, etc. to go with it, so I try to stock a few stellar items whenever possible in order to complete your ensemble properly.

Although I have a penchant for the 1920s, as far as fashion is concerned, I'm a Mid Century Girl if there ever was one starting with Dior's New Look in 1947. So it's no surprise that the majority of my patterns are 1950s and 1960s. On the other hand, I've done theater work all my life, and I realize how difficult it can be to find reasonably priced reenactment or costume patterns, so I try to include these as much as possible, too. If you can't find what you're looking for, ASK ME ! It will take a few days to sift through the boxes, but I will respond!

I'm also a professional musician -- teaching, singing, and playing viola, violin, and piano with various regional symphonies. It's always a very tough decision on a peaceful afternoon ..... practice Bach partitas or crochet a new hat. So much wool, so many patterns, so much music.....how can anyone be bored?!

I do my best to describe items accurately, including any imperfections. Since I specialize in vintage items, yellowing of paper, for example, is to be expected. Nonetheless, I'll try to always mention such things. I want accuracy, you want accuracy -- let's work together. Mine is a smoke-free home with 1 husband and 1 cat, but with vintage items, I cannot control for their past lives.

Please understand that vintage jewelry is precisely that: it has lived, it has a history, and although I describe the pieces I sell as accurately and fairly as possible, and send them out to you in the listed condition, I cannot be responsible for issues that occur *after* you receive the item. Metal fatigues, glues fail, and just like human body parts, often when you least expect it and without warning.

Because of the nature of these items, unless they arrive damaged or defective, I can't accept returns for:

Returns and exchange details
Generally, I do *not* accept returns. However, if there is a problem or concern with an item, please contact me *immediately (24 hours from time of receipt as noted by USPS)* via email as soon as you receive the item. I aim for a happy and sustainable environment in all senses; however, wearing an item for a function then asking to return it is not only inconsiderate, it is fraud.
Payment
Items must be paid using PayPal OR Etsy's Direct Checkout and must be paid within two (2) business days of the purchase; otherwise, the order will be canceled and the item re-listed.

RESERVED ITEMS -- *for orders over $25 only*: Please do not ask for something to be reserved unless you are willing to put down 20% immediately as a good faith down payment. For the remaining 80%, we can work out a payment plan based on your circumstances.
Shipping
* I use the USPS for shipping, and I ship as quickly as I can -- often, the day the monies clear. I dislike waiting for my stuff, and I assume that you do, too.

* Yes, I'll combine shipping. "With a second item" pricing is built into my listings, but you can always convo me first for a shipping quote.

* Please note that I do not make profits on shipping. I refund excess shipping.

* Paper items are sent in waterproof packages: a vintage pattern sitting in a mailbox in the rain isn't a happy pattern.

* Items over $20 include insurance, which is purchased through Etsy's contract with Endicia. Please review the following carefully!!! * CUSTOMS, TAXES, and other monies collected by governments: Any monies collected by governments is the responsibility of the buyer.

* LOST ITEMS: please keep tabs of the tracking number emailed to you when I ship your item(s). Items cannot be claimed as "lost in the mail" until: 21 days (for U.S.), 45 days everywhere else EXCEPT ITALY which is 60 days, and alas, as of August 2013, Brazil is 120 days. Oh my! Please note that you will need to sign an affidavit in order to file an insurance claim, and although the insurer works quickly, refunds are not instantaneous. Patience and calmness are virtues to be cultivated.

* INCORRECT ADDRESSES: if you provide an incorrect address, and the item never arrives, I cannot be held liable since there is no error on my part -- nor can insurance kick in. SO, please be sure that your address is correct at the time of the order !!! If paying with PayPal, please be sure that the address you provide Etsy matches that found on PayPal -- otherwise, there will be a delay in shipping as I will have to contact you for clarification.
