About

modern style. handcrafted. one-of-a-kind.

My grandmother taught me how to knit at her kitchen table, starting with yarn that my mother had used on long-abandoned projects years earlier.

Fast forward a couple decades. I'm in the desert working on a degree in poetry. It's hellishly hot and the sun is always shining. As pleasant as it is, I'm homesick for chilly autumn days and squishy scarves. I drive to a craft store for some cheap yarn and re-learn how to knit off youtube tutorials, but something about it all makes me feel like I'm back in my gram's kitchen. And that feels good.

I've come a long way since that blazing Arizona day. For one thing, I'm back in DC, where I experience the joy (and trials!) of seasons. For another, my knitting has evolved, and I love inventing knew patterns and coming up with creative ways to incorporate knitting into a modern and stylish girl's wardrobe.

I originally started making accessories for my friends as gifts and upon request. I love finding special patterns that will really make the colors or textures of the yarn stand out. Everything in my shop is a one-of-a-kind piece handmade by me. If you have any questions, please feel free to let me know!

I'm happy to make custom orders and follow your specific needs and desires. Knitting for others and giving something warm and soft that will keep you cozy on a cold day is a joy.

Rachel's grandma taught her how to knit when she was a little girl, but she didn't really pick it up again and start making things until she was getting her Masters degree in the desert and found herself nostalgic for seasons.
