To be fair to all of my Etsy buyers, I will only hold a ring for a period of 7 DAYS with a NON-REFUNDABLE deposit of 10% of the purchase price. I get a lot of requests to hold rings! Requiring a financial commitment is the only way to ensure that rings are not taken off the market casually, making them unavailable to other buyers. A ring on hold/reserved must be purchased by the 7th day or the item will be re-listed and the deposit forfeited. A ring purchased by the 7th day after being on hold/reserved is subject to my normal return policy.
