About

Stuck in the mud and loving it!

I have been a painter for 20+ years and have produced hundreds of acrylic and oil paintings of varying subjects, most notably my series of bright colored whimsical cows which can be seen on my website at www.karenolonehahn.com

I added "potter" to my repertoire almost 4 years ago and have been in love with it ever since. I like getting dirty and the zen of having my hands in the mud while spinning it somehow magically into a vessel.

I have graduated to creating whimsical pieces which echo the fun and whimsy of my paintings often featuring pieces inspired by our 4 cats. Poppies are also a recurring theme in my art as they seeped into my brain on a trip to Normandy France and have taken up residence there.

I love that pottery can be functional and fun and beautiful. I strive for quality and uniqueness in all of my work and will never ship work that is less than my best.

I am a one man band in my studio. I do all of the designing and making, packaging, communication, listing and everything else that goes along with running a small business like mine.

Because it's just me, I don't produce a lot of the same items over and over again and have a gazillion listings of items for sale, but create unique one of a kind works of functional art for people to love and possess. Every piece of pottery that I make is special and unique.

You will know a Karen O'Lone-Hahn original piece of pottery by my copyrighted designs and signature stamp. My catalog of items will continue to grow and change as new designs are created and others are discontinued.

I am an approved Etsy wholesaler and look forward to taking inquiries from retailers and I am always happy to create custom items for individuals.

Thank you for stopping my shop!

I am so happy that you are interested in purchasing my pottery! If you love something that I have listed, I hope that you will bring it home and give it all of your love. Each piece that I make reflects a mood and the Zen that I get from throwing on the wheel.

The nature of handmade and throwing clay is that no two pieces are ever exactly the same. I may make ten yarn bowls but each of them wil be a unique and one of a kind work of art.

If you have any questions or would like to know more about me, feel free to contact me. I have been a painter for 20+ years, a children's book author/illustrator and now a potter. Please visit my website: www.karenolonehahn.com which carries my paintings and kids books and for more info.

Accepted payment methods

  • Accepts Etsy gift cards
  • Money Order
Payment
I'm happy to accept payment via PayPal, money order, credit card or direct checkout. If you wish to bypass PayPal and just call me with your credit card number, I'm happy to accept that, too. The number is 610-255-1564.
Shipping
I will ship within 1-3 days of receiving your confirmed payment. You will be notified when your order ships. When combining shipping higher rates apply.

Your item will arrive if it is under 5" wide in a lovely gift box, carefully pakaged with packing peanuts and bubble wrap. Smaller and larger items will be carefully packaged minus the box.

I use flat rate USPS priority to ship. The cost includes tracking and up to $50 free insurance. I find this the best way to ship due to the added perks and the size of the boxes provides ample room for packing materials to keep your special purchase safe in it's travels to your home. I charge for shipping only with no added costs for handling or packing materials.

International shipments will be via USPS First Class International. The buyer is responsible for any customs fees. On International orders I will have to estimate the shipping costs.. However, if I have overestimated it significantly, I will refund the difference to you. Due to the extra tme involved in filling out customs forms and having to purchase packaging materials a nominal $2-3 handling charge is included in the shipping costs.

Because USPS is our only viable option for international shipping, I will make every effort to pack your item very carefully but will not be able to process a claim should the package arrive damaged. You will need to work through your local post office to file the claim. I will be happy to provide you with any documentation needed.

If you prefer a specific carrier and/or method please contact me.

You can contact me before your purchase and I will gladly let you know what the actual shipping cost will be. Insurance over $50 value is not included and will be calculated and added upon request to all orders.
Refunds and Exchanges
I carefully pack each order to ensure its safe arrival at your door. In the unlikely event of any breakage I will work with you to replace the items if I can, or offer you a store credit. I cannot offer cash refunds. All I ask is that you provide me with photographs of the breakage including the packaging within 3 days of receipt. If you report a problem within 3 days I will do everything I can do resolve it as quickly as possible. Any pending issues reported within the 3 day time period which may not be not resolved for lack of contact or communication on your part will be void after 14 days.

My hope is that you will be happy with your purchase. I try hard to provide accurate descriptions and pictures of my items, and to price them fairly. I encourage you to contact me with any questions prior to your purchase. All colors are approximate and may appear slightly different depending on your monitor settings.

When you receive your order, if you are not happy with your purchase please contact me and I’ll try my best to work it out with you. The buyer is expected to pay for any shipping charges for returns. The item must be returned in its original packaging and in the original condition it was sent in for replacement or credit.
