About

The journey is never over

We grew up in the middle of nowhere in west Tennessee. There was never anything to do but explore the woods and make things with your hands. My mother was always inventive, and if it didn't work you found a way to make it work with what you had. I learned this from her at an early age. It wasn't always necessarily crafting that helped me to find this frame of mind, but I applied these lessons in all aspects of my life.

Eight years ago, my mother used to make jewelry as a hobby just for herself and a few friends. When she quickly got sucked into making pottery in her little hobby shack in her back yard, she stopped making jewelry altogether. I went to visit her in Florida one summer, and she gave me her entire stash of jewelry making supplies. I was hooked from the get-go.

I started a lot like she did. Practicing on myself and my friends, I would come up with wacky designs and color schemes. My Color Chaos Collection of bangle/earring sets were a big hit one year, and I started seriously thinking about selling to the public. I was in school and I needed the money, so I setup an online blog to show people the things that I made. I slowly started selling to the public and was addicted to the excitement people would show when they loved a piece they bought from me.

I quickly learned everything i could get my hands on. I found books and online tutorials to help me expand my horizons and try out new challenging designs. A huge thank you to the Memphis Public library and to YouTube overwhelming me with never ending lessons on technique. (And a special thank you to Tizzy, our little Yorkie/Wiener mix, and Yaya, our lovable Mutt/Mutt, who both keep me company while I craft.) As I learned new skills, I truly began to love working with all of these tiny colorful components in a variety of ways.

I now sell some of my work in my own Etsy shop, or in small shops across town, or even off of my River Rock Jewelry Facebook Fan Page (link on the right - it has all of my work from multiple sell locations, and is the most up-to-date on wheat I am doing right now.)

But my pride and joy is offering my work for sale at the National Ornamental Metal Museum here in Memphis, TN. I am honored to have my work sold there, and hope I can continue to help them raise money with my commissions.

Eight short years later, I am still learning new skills every day. I still get really excited when I pull of a design for the first time. I love the look on a person's face when they pick up one of my pieces and exclaim, "OH I've got to have this!" I wear my creations with pride, remembering the road I have taken to get here. I never want to stop learning new things, and being an artist in my own unique way.

I'm mid thirties, no kids, one dog, and pretty-much-hubby at my side. I love to craft, and sing, and draw. Music is life. I breathe it like air. My favorite thing is when a customer picks up something and goes, "Ooooooooh I love this!" Makes my day.

Returns and exchanges
I don't accept returns, exchanges, or cancellations
But please contact me if you have any problems with your order.
No refunds. I can not stress this enough. Since Etsy and Paypal take cuts of my funds, I can not promise a full refund, so I don't offer them. All sales are final. If an item breaks within 30 days of purchase, you will get a replacement if possible.

Any item that breaks of it's own accord will be replaced in good faith, but if you let your children hang from one of your bracelets and it breaks, that is not my fault and I will not replace it. Trust me, I can tell by looking at it.
Payment
At this time I accept payments via Etsy's direct checkout feature and via PayPal.

Payment must be made upon checkout. Items will not ship unless payment has been made, unless you are using one of my specialty coupons for a discount off of your purchase. In that case, just put the items in your cart and contact me so that I can take off your discounts. I will contact you back to let you know when you can check out. If you have any questions, please contact me here on Etsy or at: arahslan [!at] yahoo.com

Once your package has shipped I will send you a message to let you know it's on the way and to give you the tracking information.
