Roaming the Americas Travel Blog—Travel + Life Shop

Hola, friend!

This travel + life shop is an extension of my blog, Roaming the Americas, which is about immersive travel 🧳 in the United States, Canada, and Latin America. I started my blog in 2016 as a resource for everyday people who crave immersive travel experiences that are kind to the environment, support the local economy, and let them connect with culture in a meaningful way.

And in 2020, I decided to launch this Roaming the Americas travel (+ life) shop! Look around and you'll find travel, funny (read: probably sarcastic), and inspirational products.

It's never my goal to promote more consumerism in the world, but my hope is to provide you with unique and beautiful designs when you're in need of some t-shirt or coffee mug replacements.

I create all the designs in this shop and work with a professional company to print and ship them directly to you. This saves a ton of waste since I am not maintaining an inventory or having anything mass printed.

Most important to me when choosing a printing company were high quality + commitment to greater sustainability (even if this cuts into what I earn!). The company I am currently working with is making great strides through working to improve packaging, reducing carbon emissions through local fulfillment centers, and adding new eco-friendly products to their offerings.

If you like what you see, make sure to add Roaming the Americas to your ❤️ favorite shops ❤️ so you get notified whenever I release new products! Thanks for stopping by.

Frequently asked questions

Why does my new shirt have a vinegar-like smell?

If you happen to notice any vinegar smell or off-white residue on your t-shirt, don't panic—this is COMPLETELY normal! It's from a solution applied during printing that helps ink bond to your shirt (otherwise it'd flake off and nobody wants that!), and it's not permanent. Just give it a wash (I recommend this regardless) using the care instructions below or found on the tag, and you should be good to go!

🧺 CARE INSTRUCTIONS 🧺

● Machine wash cold, inside-out, gentle cycle with mild detergent and similar colors. Use non-chlorine bleach, only when necessary.
● No fabric softeners.
● Tumble dry low, or hang-dry for longest life.
● Cool iron inside-out if necessary. Do not iron decoration.
● Do not dry clean.

Are t-shirts and other garments in your shop screen printed?

No. The print shop I partner with uses a process called Direct to Garment (DTG) method of printing. That means they can create photo-quality prints, the amount of colors used doesn't affect pricing, and there aren't any order minimums.

What type of ink do you use? Is it safe for children?

For DTG products (the printing process used for clothing), my print shop partner uses Kornit Water-based and NeoPigment inks that are Oeko-Tex™ certified, which means they are safe to print on children’s clothing and reduce environmental waste.
