At home in the Pacific Northwest
Ich begann 2011 auf Etsy mit der Anfertigung von handgefertigten Kissen aus Pendleton-Wolle, Vintage-Campinghockern, Stuhl- und Feldbettbezügen sowie Änderungen für Indian vs Indian und Scout vs Scout. Noch im selben Jahr eröffnete ich meinen eigenen Shop, Robin Cottage, der zu den ersten gehörte, die handgefertigte Produkte im Artwork-Stil, fast ausschließlich aus Deckenstoffen von Pendleton-Wolle, verkauften.
Ich bin in fünfter Generation in Oregon geboren und aufgewachsen und habe fast mein ganzes Leben im pazifischen Nordwesten verbracht. Ich bin die stolze Mutter eines wunderbaren 15-jährigen Jungen namens Evan, zweier Hunde (Georgia und Lola) und zweier Katzen (Tux und Ollie). Wir leben in einem alten Haus auf einem etwa 2000 Quadratmeter großen Grundstück, ungefähr eine halbe Stunde von Portland, Oregon, entfernt. Auf unserem Grundstück befindet sich ein Atelier für Kunsthandwerk in einer Scheune aus den 1940er-Jahren, wo ich alles für meinen Online-Shop erledige: Nähen, Verpacken, Fotografieren und Marketing.
Meine fast 30-jährige Erfahrung in der Landschaftsarchitektur (www.smithla.com) inspiriert mich zu einer akribischen Liebe zum Detail, zur Geometrie, zur Symmetrie und zu den Proportionen bei all meinen genähten Kreationen hier auf Etsy.

I started on Etsy in 2011 making all of the Pendleton Wool handcrafted pillows, vintage camp stool, chair and cot covers and alterations for Indian vs Indian and Scout vs Scout. I then originally launched my own shop later that same year as Robin Cottage, which was one of the original shops selling artisan-style handcrafted products made almost exclusively with Pendleton Wool blanket fabrics.
I am a 5th generation Oregonian and have spent most of my life in the Pacific Northwest. I am the proud mother of a wonderful 15 year old young man named Evan, two dogs (Georgia and Lola) and two cats (Tux and Ollie). We live in an old house on a half-acre about a half hour from Portland, Oregon. I have an art and craft design studio on our property in a 1940s barn, where I do all of the sewing, packaging, photography and marketing for my online shop.
My background in landscape architecture for the past nearly 30 years (www.smithla.com) inspires a meticulous attention to detail, geometry, symmetry and proportion in all of my sewn creations here on Etsy.
