Lovely pendant made with my moms china pattern. Very special piece, thank you!
My Creative Journey
My creative journey began as a child collecting colored bottles to display on my window sill. To me, there was just something so magical about the way the sun filtered through the vibrantly hued glass and splashed the color against the nearest surface. While other kids played with toys, I was enamored with everything from sea glass to my mother's fine china tea cups. Sourced from going with my mom to various second hand stores and flea markets, the tea cups in all their mismatched glory were particularly instrumental in illustrating the whimsy that can be incorporated into design.
As an adult, I took a stained glass class for fun and it transformed my very being. From that moment on, it truly has been all about the GLASS! After mastering that class, I explored other design mediums and soon became enchanted with mosaics and pottery. To say I was hooked is an understatement, my mind was literally bustling with ideas that I could not wait to begin. I ended up creating a selection of gifts for friends and family using my new skill set. The rave reviews I received was all I needed to begin my Etsy adventure.
With the help of my devoted husband, Robin's Nest Creations is the fruition of my childhood dream to fill the world with color. From the comfort of my home studio, I can often be found digging through a pile of broken china to find the perfect pieces to create a new design. Each morning is like a new adventure simply waiting to be discovered. I love every moment of the design process from the creation to holding the finished piece in my hands.
My husband often brags that I have customers from all over the world, and it is true. It almost feels as if I have paved a bridge of color through each design that I have created in my little "nest". Being connected to my customers, through a love for all things handmade, means the world to me.
