My little studio space where the robots are made.
I make robots, the decorative kind that like to stand around, not the skynet kind.
Who? Artist: maker of awesome Robot Sculptures: Decorative Geekery known as HerArtSheLoves all over the web. My background is in digital illustrating and polymer clay sculpting, BUT most importantly I'm a Über nerd. All manner of science fiction I love.
Why? I began working with polymer clay in childhood and returned to the media through out the years. In 2009 I combined my love of geek and sculpting to create robot sculptures. All manner of sci-fi, I freakin' love. Why make robots? Because THEY ARE AWESOME. K-9, Bender, Robbie the Robot... I get to work with an art media I fell in love with as a child and get my geek on every day!
How? Polymer clay is shaped into robotic goodness, beads added for eyes and wire woven into springs to make the neck, arms & legs. After baking, multiple coats of varnish are brushed on for protection and shiny delight.

CUSTOM ORDERS?
Not accepting custom orders at this time. Thanks for your understanding.
ARE THE ROBOTS TOYS? DO THEY MOVE?
NO, even though they look cute and have springy necks, arms and legs they are NOT bendable! The robots are art sculptures.
WHY THE HEARTS ON THEIR CHESTS?
Because we all need a little heart in life.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE ME TO MAKE ONE?
Since each are handmade and vary in size and details it can range from several days to weeks. I work on multiple sculptures at a time, sculpting while pieces bake, painting baked pieces, coiling wire into future limbs, it's a never ending cycle. :)
ARE THE SCULPTURES BASED OFF OF....
No. I did not base my robot sculpture on that tv show, video game, book and/or movie you like.
