RockAndPinyon is a small design studio specializing in modern, minimalist and eco-friendly original designs inspired by the lifestyles and vast landscapes of my home state of Colorado. Everything is designed and made here in the foothills of the Rockies in Golden, CO.

With a background in fine arts, mechanical engineering and robotics engineering, this shop is a product of my passions for both aesthetic design and modern creative tools. The name RockAndPinyon is a wordplay mix of the inspiring desert landscape and engineering (rack and pinion...anyone?). Many people consider art and engineering to be separate disciplines, but I see engineering as an expanded toolkit for creative pursuits. All of these products have been designed and made with both form and function in mind. My goal is to create beautiful, functional and durable designs. I hope you like ‘em!

I guess the idea for RockAndPinyon actually started at my wedding in the summer of 2019. My fiance (now wife) was (and is) a dedicated plant mom, and I worked on an organic farm for nearly half a decade. It seemed like a fitting idea to make 3d-printed planters and plant succulents in them as our DIY wedding gifts. The planter design ended up being a lo-fi version of the Ponderosa Planter. To commemorate the wedding and share the design, it was uploaded to Thingiverse and has since had many thousands of downloads. The satisfaction from seeing others use and enjoy our designs sparked the idea behind RockAndPinyon.
