This was a gift for someone special and he loved it. These little matchboxes are perfect for little gifts, keepsakes and in lieu of a greeting card. Everyone who has gotton one really loved them.

This is my 5th mixed media collage Sometime they are on their easels on my wall unit and sometimes I hang them on my wall. I tried to get a picture of all 5 on my wall but the space here is too small so the one I bought this time will have to do. I adore these little collages. They are gorgeous and I will be buying many more of Bevs artwork in the future.

This is my gift to me. Everyone who sees me use it, wants one. It is like a piece of jewelry, sparkly, colorful and just gorgeous. This would make a great gift.

About

I create colorful, whimsical art that just makes you feel good to look at it.

I was a typical creative kid; always drawing, painting, cutting, gluing. My wise and wonderful mom made sure I always had supplies. Determined to make the most of my creativity she was always challenging me. If I wanted, say, a new bed for my doll she'd say, “Let's make one” and out would come our stash of boxes, toilet paper rolls, string, wooden spools, and the like. By high school I was making more than half my wardrobe, helping her upholster furniture and creating wall art. Thanks to her, that “make it yourself” attitude remains with me to this day.

Like my mother, I became a teacher. It's a very creative job and was a good fit. I really did love it. In '99 I took a leave of absence to care for my aging parents. While on leave I fell in love with rubber stamping, ACEOs and mixed-media art. It was during this time that I started experimenting with microbead collage. I've refined my technique over the years and now consider it one of my signature styles. I never tire of it. I say in my listings that it looks “like jewelry on paper” and it really does!

Eventually I went back to work teaching kindergarten. That was when I learned about the Urban Fairies of Ann Arbor, Michigan. I was smitten! A few of my students had Fairy Doors at home and told me the most imaginative stories about the antics of the fairies living with their families. I knew making Fairy Doors was in my future. Gradually, my interest in spending time following my bliss overwhelmed my desire to keep teaching and I took early retirement.

Rock In a Heart Place (named for my love of heart shaped rocks) was born from the desire to live a more creative life. I'm as busy now as I was when I taught school. I'm relishing my freedom to make whatever I want, when I want. I like my work! Its whimsical and fun and comes from the heart. I firmly believe in my tag line: it's “Art that just makes you feel good”. I'm very dedicated to my shop and have very high standards. My goal is to offer quality goods at affordable prices, along with excellent customer service. I truly appreciate my customers and consider many of them part of my Etsy family.

Mom would be proud.

My home is in Boise, Idaho, but now that my husband and I are retired we spend even more time at our cabin in the mountains, where I have a studio in the loft. I spend as much time making things outdoors as I possibly can.

Welcome to my world! My name is Bev Peterson. I've been with Etsy for a few years now, yet continue to learn something new every day. I'm driven to make things. It's what makes me happy. If I love the things I make, then surely there are others that will love them too. I love watching a given idea evolve over time and go to great lengths to produce a quality product. I go wherever my muse leads me, so keep checking back for new and different items. I'm delighted to have this venue in which to share my work.

All items come from a smoke-free environment. I do, however, have a spoiled cat. She generally stays off my work space, but parks herself directly in front of my computer monitor in a deliberate bid for attention. And I cave every time. I tell you this because I can't guarantee that a single cat hair won't make it into your packaging, though to my knowledge this has never happened.

Payment
I accept Paypal, Direct Checkout and Etsy Gift Cards.

Please be sure you have the correct shipping information both on PayPal and Etsy.

Please note that buyers are responsible for any and all duties and customs charges that may be incurred.

Unless prearranged, payment is due upon purchase. Transactions unpaid after 24 hours will be cancelled through Etsy and items relisted unless you have communicated with me regarding payment.

I do ask that SPECIAL ORDERS be paid for up front. I will create a RESERVED listing for you to purchase. The listing photo may not feature your exact item, but the text will describe the order. This will serve as our contract.

Idaho residents are subject to 6% sales tax.
Shipping
I will ship your order as soon as I can, once payment is received. This can be from one to five days, with two days being the most frequent scenario. Check individual items for shipping estimates.

I have an unusual situation in that I have two homes and go back and forth each week. I keep 90% of my stock with me at all times, but, alas, some items have to be left at home. You may have to wait a few extra days for these items. This extra time (3-5 days) is reflected in the shipping times for those particular items.

I use First Class Mail whenever possible and prefer to recycle packing materials when I can. I do, however, purchase boxes in convenient sizes and hope that you, too, will recycle. Convo me if you would like to purchase delivery confirmation or insurance.

I do charge a small handling fee above the actual shipping cost to cover my shipping supplies and a tad bit for my time. However, excessive shipping and handling generated by the system on purchase of multiple items will be refunded.
Refunds and Exchanges
It's very important to me that you be happy with your purchase. If you are unhappy for any reason, please let me know within 7 days of receipt. I will make every effort to work things out to your satisfaction. Sorry, there are no returns on custom items.

Buyer is responsible for any return shipping fees (unless item is defective). Items must be returned in the condition they were received.

Cancellations are possible as long as the order has not shipped, but since I sometimes ship on the same day as the order is received, please notify me ASAP.
Additional policies and FAQs
A note about caring for Paper Products: The very same sunshine that provides us with warmth and boosts our spirits, can do a lot of damage to paper. Constant exposure to sunlight can slowly rob pieces of their color and vibrancy. Therefore, I recommend that you not place them in windowsills (for any length of time) or hang them on a wall directly opposite a window. This applies to MOST paper products/decor, not just mine.

It only makes sense, that water, too, is the enemy. My necklace pendant trays are metal, but the microbead collages themselves have a paper backing that could be damaged if gotten wet. So, don't do what I did...forget you have it on and get into the shower! (It didn't ruin it, but it COULD have).
