You know what would be cool... if you could make it like this...
Rockduster clawed it's way out of the woodwork as a request from my dear brother for another custom piece of adventure gear... a new chalkbag.
For years we had been discussing ways to modify gear, improve the design, or customize it a bit. Usually these conversations happened in long car rides, over dinner, or on the phone. Nowhere near pen and paper, of course. Well, every now and then a sketch would make its way onto a used envelope, post-it note or napkin and BAM! the idea would stick!
After working for a little while as a repair 'seamstress' at a shop that repaired outdoor gear, I realized that it wasn't fair to abuse my home sewing machine by forcing 1/4" + layers of canvas, webbing and zippers through its struggling but valiant jaws... I would need an industrial strength machine to make these ideas reality. I finally invested in my own personal beast of a machine and here we are on the path to customized, hard working gear spawned from the brains of the adventurers themselves! My unique line of chalkbags is just the beginning.
Being able to take a hare-brained-line drawing-idea on a bar napkin and turn it into durable, usable, lovable piece of gear is a wonderful feeling! I strive to make unique gear that lasts, that works and that you can love as much as I do.
