No problem with the sale, or vendor- I'm simply not in love in person. To be fair I've had fantastic luck online and I know a lot of people who will cherish them. Thank you for the perfect Christmas gift x

Rusty, our new puppy, wants you to have a wooden bowl that's almost as orange as his play toy.

We passed Gettysburg on our way to pick up our fenders for the 46 Chevy. An adorable town.

Wearing a red western shirt in the 50s Cadillac would look mighty classy. You would be styling.

About

Happy 7th Anniversary, Rocky Springs Vintage

So excited to enter our seventh year of making people happy with vintage. This is what usually happens in the discovery process.

The barn releases the item to me. I inspect the vintage piece, dust the item, look for blemishes and scratches, then search the web for information on pricing and historical background. I decide what to charge after seeing what others charge and then choose a price that is generally in the middle. Who did the piece belong to? Where did I find it? Can I recall a story about the owner that will move a younger person to buy the item? I tell stories that stir a memory or a reflection inside people. I think of story about the item. I look for an appropriate shooting place around the eight acres or in the cottage home. I design the set. I shoot. I re-shoot. When the item sells, my husband and I pack the vintage piece carefully so the item arrives safely and soundly to you, the buyer. I miss some of the pieces and refer back to the photograph to recall the piece or the story. I then return to the dairy barn and look for another piece. I can see a little more space in the barn where old items have moved out, really. My closet has a little more moving room. too.
How about you? How did you get started in vintage? Grandmother, Aunt or special someone get you rolling down the vintage road? Thank that person for the vintage ride.
