About RococoVintage
do sit down. oh won't you have a little dream with your tea?
Rococo Vintage carries carefully curated vintage clothing from the better part of the 1900s and the later part of the 1800s. The pieces are selected for their beauty, their whimsy, their exceptional condition, and their ability to be worn by even the most contemporarily minded girl. I approach photographing and detailing my garments in the same way that photographers and writers approach their art, and my ultimate aim is to provide a shopping experience that is not only about the beauty of the clothes, but about the beauty of the experience, as well. In other words, Rococo Vintage provides a shopping experience for the deeply, the truly, and the madly aesthetically sensitive.

THE STORY
Rococo Vintage was founded in Mary Pickford’s old apartment, on one balmy afternoon in the middle of one Los Angeles summer, by one little girl named Rebecca Emily Darling (but only upon the bidding of her roommate who, naturally, is the ghost of Mary Pickford.) “Miss Rebecca,” said Mary all of a sudden and clearly in quite a huff, “it is high time you gather your silly self together and share your treasures with the rest of the world. Surely I am the best friend a girl could have, and you could live on me and tea cakes for all the rest of your days, but really, you must gather your strength, leave your cavernous cave of books, and venture outward to spread some beauty and wit to the rest of the world.” Fortunately for Little Miss Rebecca, the internet was a way to do just that while straying little more than a few feet from her nest of spines and pages;
and so, Rococo Vintage was born.

Owner, Curator
I am the great great granddaughter of Wendy Darling. I like fairy tales and cats and coffee and gin. I've a great affinity for art nouveau maidens and fairy tale heroines and an especial fondness of the Victorian gothic. Also, ghosts.

"Dandyism in certain respects comes close to spirituality... Contrary to what many thoughtless people seem to believe, dandyism is not even an excessive delight in clothes and material elegance. For the perfect dandy, these things are no more than the symbol of the aristocratic superiority of his mind."
