This shirt was perfect for my son’s first birthday! So cute! My son is mostly in 18 month clothes and I got a size 18 month and the the fit was perfect. I even washed and dried the shirt before wear and it held up great.

Southern Boy Mom

Hi! My name is Amanda Abshire. I am the shop owner and designer of all things from Roots in the Boot. I am a proud American, strong Christan woman, devoted wife and mother, loyal friend, proud sister and aunt, southerner, plant mama, gardener, cook, lover of all creatures big and small, bookworm, Speech-Language Pathologist and I love to travel. My sons are my "why" and my biggest inspiration. I opened this shop in hopes I can provide them with more opportunities this wonderful life has to offer.

My ancestors play a huge role in my creativity. In my shop, you will find items that are inspired by my faith, family, and way of life. I was raised in the Deep South. More specifically, Louisiana (Geaux Tigers!). I was taught how to cook and garden like a southern woman; I went to church every Sunday morning as a child growing up; I was raised to "treat others the way you want to be treated;" and I do things around my house simply because...well..."That's how Momma did it."

Thank you Momma and Daddy for raisin' me right! Thank you Aunt Peggy, Aunt Doris and all the strong southern women in our family for the laughs and good times around our dinner table. I have learned from all of you that the kitchen truly is the heart of the home and where you can comfort someone with a warm meal or simply sit down and catch up over a cup of coffee.
