I'm currently working on getting all of my fabrics switched over to organically produced ones! Organic Cotton Plus and Simplifi fabrics are some of my favorites so far :-)

About

Out of the Woods

How did you start your shop?
It all started....
I have sewn my whole life, ever since my Granma Shirley taught me to sew when I was six. A few years ago, when I was nannying 60 hrs. a week I started making soft toys when the kids slept. It woke up a curiosity, a joy, and eventually a passion in me for making beautiful, unique, and quality toys for kids!

What is your process?
I begin creating by imagining a toy and drawing it over and over again till I am satisfied with it. Then I turn it into a pattern and start playing with it. I make a first draft and see how I like it and then, usually, make at least a second, third, and fourth draft before I'm satisfied! I choose the fabric from my stock of organic, hand-dyed, and/or recycled fabric. I use the sewing machine to make the base of the animal or doll and then hand-sew all the finishing details, like the embroidered faces, hair, and other special details.

What is your vision?
When I was a kid I played outside in the woods for hours each day. I believed in multiple worlds that touched each other and if I could find the right doors I could step into places full of magic and wonder. My toys were such a huge part of that magic. Because of that I place tremendous importance on the toys we give to kids. They should encourage imagination, be one-of-a-kind, and should be eco-friendly and safe. I also think that having handmade toys lets kids know it's possible to create whatever they can imagine! I got the idea for the world of Emergolde after a solo camping trip in the woods. After I saw the gold color of the sunlight breaking through the emerald green tones of the trees I became inspired with the name Emergolde!

Hey there and thanks for checking out my policies page. I've waited to post these till I felt like I knew what I was talking about, so please trust that I have thought through these policies at length before setting them.

  • Buy with Apple Pay
  • Pay with Sofort

Payment
As of now, I only take paypal or if necessary, you can convo me about using a cashier's check. I will ship items only after your payment has been cleared. If you decide to cancel a purchase that is fine as long as I have not shipped it yet.
Shipping
Unless an item is custom or otherwise listed, I will ship all items within 1-3 business days. If I am unable to do so for any reason I will post on my shop announcements that there might be a delay in shipping.
Once items have been shipped, it is really up to the post office. I use USPS priority mail and it takes anywhere from a couple days to a couple weeks. If you need to get an item by a certain time, message me before hand and I will change the shipping price and make it happen!
As of now, I have insurance and a tracking number on every package, although that may look different for countries outside of the U.S. In the rare cases that a shipment is lost by the Post Office and it can be demonstrated, I will either replace the item or refund your payment, depending which you prefer.
Refunds and Exchanges
If the item received does not match the description given and you can demonstrate that I will work with you to come up with a solution. Items damaged in shipping are out of my control! This has never happened, although the box has been beat up a bit.
Additional policies and FAQs
I love to do custom orders and will work with you to make any animal you want! If you have a special design, idea, pattern, or fabric you want to use just let me know and I will work with you to get it done!
