My 8 year old loves all things "cute animal". Fluffy is Wyatt's new name. This little Weasel is darling. It is so darn diddly arn cute! I feel like the style of these toys will be charming for years to come, this isn't a fad type toy, this is a classic. The quality seems (seams, haha) wonderful. The toys are thick and sturdy, but still huggable. I don't like too floppy of plush toys that don't last, but don't like too hard that they aren't fun to hold, the Emergold animals are just right. I am very pleased with our purchase. My kid's want to use the birthday money that family members send to buy the squirrel. I feel we are so fortunate to be able to have things like this. I wish I could make sure every child in the world was well fed, tucked in bed safe, and cuddling with something special like these toys.

My 5 year old son can not get enough of his "Nari the Narwhal". The Narwhal is not as hard as I thought it would be, which is perfect and wonderful! The color in person is just as it is on my computer screen. Nari is pretty soft, but made of a quality thick fabric. The price is a bargain for an American made item that will last, that's made by an artist, that's top notch quality. Sure, you could buy a cheap $5 dollar china made toy at walmart, but I am pleased I got great quality Narwhal while supporting an American business. I love hugging Narwhal when my 5 year old isn't looking, the toys we ordered from Emergold really have brought us some joy. We are so blessed!

I am reviewing all 5 items I purchased because we just absolutely adore these stuffed animals. My family, we've had a pretty crappy year (well, crappy for spoiled Americans). My military hubby became a disabled veteran when someone ran him over with a 45k lb machine. That kinda makes things not fun. My kids and I recently flew to our home state (4 kids against me), we all got sick, couldn't visit family, a hard fall down a terrible flight of stairs, were on a plane that broke and had to emergency land...it was a terrible adventure. We had these stuffed animals sent ahead of us, and let me tell you, did they sure bring immense joy! The quality is excellent! I love supporting an American business. Thick, sturdy, but soft enough to cuddle. The colors are perfect, they are just as advertised. These are happy makers.

The fox looks even better in person than it does online. These are such precious little stuffed animals. The quality is excellent. The fabric and the stuffing are sturdy, but soft enough to cuddle with at night. I would buy again.

I'm currently working on getting all of my fabrics switched over to organically produced ones! Organic Cotton Plus and Simplifi fabrics are some of my favorites so far :-)

About

Out of the Woods

How did you start your shop?
It all started....
I have sewn my whole life, ever since my Granma Shirley taught me to sew when I was six. A few years ago, when I was nannying 60 hrs. a week I started making soft toys when the kids slept. It woke up a curiosity, a joy, and eventually a passion in me for making beautiful, unique, and quality toys for kids!

What is your process?
I begin creating by imagining a toy and drawing it over and over again till I am satisfied with it. Then I turn it into a pattern and start playing with it. I make a first draft and see how I like it and then, usually, make at least a second, third, and fourth draft before I'm satisfied! I choose the fabric from my stock of organic, hand-dyed, and/or recycled fabric. I use the sewing machine to make the base of the animal or doll and then hand-sew all the finishing details, like the embroidered faces, hair, and other special details.

What is your vision?
When I was a kid I played outside in the woods for hours each day. I believed in multiple worlds that touched each other and if I could find the right doors I could step into places full of magic and wonder. My toys were such a huge part of that magic. Because of that I place tremendous importance on the toys we give to kids. They should encourage imagination, be one-of-a-kind, and should be eco-friendly and safe. I also think that having handmade toys lets kids know it's possible to create whatever they can imagine! I got the idea for the world of Emergolde after a solo camping trip in the woods. After I saw the gold color of the sunlight breaking through the emerald green tones of the trees I became inspired with the name Emergolde!

Shipping
Unless an item is custom or otherwise listed, I will ship all items within 1-3 business days. If I am unable to do so for any reason I will post on my shop announcements that there might be a delay in shipping.
Once items have been shipped, it is really up to the post office. I use USPS priority mail and it takes anywhere from a couple days to a couple weeks. If you need to get an item by a certain time, message me before hand and I will change the shipping price and make it happen!
As of now, I have insurance and a tracking number on every package, although that may look different for countries outside of the U.S. In the rare cases that a shipment is lost by the Post Office and it can be demonstrated, I will either replace the item or refund your payment, depending which you prefer.
