About

Beautiful items handcrafted from British wool

As a child in the hills of southern Scotland I was surrounded by sheep farms, set against the pastel heathers and brackens of the higher peaks. The traditional skills of spinning, weaving and knitting wool, as well as sewing and embroidery, were passed on to me by older generations.

Roses Workshop was born of recession, giving the impetus to lift a hobby into a business. Starting out with just a few knitted hats for friends, I now have a range of fashion, home, and gift items, all still handmade personally.

I source my materials within the UK whenever possible, so you will find my range includes items made from stunning hand-woven Harris Tweed fabric, and buttons are often hand-made by British crafters.

If you are sensitive to sheeps wool I have items made from alpaca yarn. I don't smoke, nor do I have any pets. Sometimes in winter I knit beside my wood fire, but everything is washed before despatch.

As well as selling my handmade items online, I also attend various fairs, festivals and exhibitions. This is a great way to meet the artists and crafts-people, and support other British businesses. If you are in the UK please check my Events page:
