Parcel came within a week of me placing the order! The two items were nicely wrapped and are as described. They are very well made. I'm keeping one and giving one away as a present to my mom. Communication was also great with the seller, so overall I am very happy! Many thanks!

Nice lavender smell, I use it almost every night. The fabric is also nice, the cushion could have been a bit wider. I appreciate the small present is came with. Thank you!

About

The road to healing

Welcome to Ruby & Rocket. My name is Amanda Mhic Raghnaill and I am a New Zealander living in the beautiful Boyne Valley, on the Ancient East Coast of Ireland, with my Husband, and our beautiful girls.

My Story:

By the time my daughter was 3 years of age we had moved countries twice and the decision was made to make Ireland our permanent home. When my daughter was 4 I had finally been diagnosed with post-natal (postpartum) depression. I was now on the difficult journey of recovery. One of the suggestions from my very wise and amazing doctor was to do things I enjoyed. If any of you have experienced depression on any level you will know this is not an easy task, I enjoyed very little under depression's oppressive darkness. But as I chewed over the question of 'What do I enjoy doing?' I soon realized creating was at the top of that list. I had learnt to sew as a girl (self taught) out of pure stubbornness and shear determination. So I decided to start making again. I had been given a couple of crafty books over time, I dusted them off and started to give it a go. I really enjoyed it and found that it really helped me. I was discovering enjoyment again, but what I was surprised to discover was the enormous pleasure I was getting out of producing pretty things and the enormous pleasure "things" were giving me. I realized how much I adored fabric, the variety of color and textures and I was amazed that surrounding myself with beautiful things increased my well being and mental health. I wouldn't consider myself a materialistic person but I now believe the materials we surround ourselves with, profoundly impact our lives. As I began my journey of healing and recovery I realized the unique power fabrics have on us as humans. Fabrics clothe us, comfort us, make us feel safe and warm, the right fabrics against our bodies, surrounding us in our homes, impact our senses and can help our wellbeing. I get extreme pleasure combining my love of design and creativity with health and wellbeing. At Ruby and Rocket I want to produce items for life and living, for good health and restoration. That is why I make natural healing products and items for the home using natural, high quality fabrics sourced within Ireland making my pieces low impact and sustainable.

I've always been a firm believer that the home should be a happy place where you are comforted, restored, loved and rested. As I've gotten older experienced the struggles and the good things and the additions have been added to my home and life, I am now even more adamant that this should be the case. This has inspired me to create pieces for home and life that evoke this life philosophy coupled with my love of natural fabrics.

I hope you enjoy looking through my collection and it inspires you to add a little more loving, healing and luxury into your home.
