Announcement Rovieng is an old Khmer word that stands for the "alternative way". Rovieng is also the name of a small municipality in rural Cambodia whose nature and beauty know how to inspire people. Rovieng combines the home, the family and the love of those who handcraft the products with the joy you now wear.

On the way to becoming a small silk manufactory
Sorya is an organization that supports people in Cambodia to shape their own future. We offer young people the chance to participate in Sorya's educational program and learn English, computers and basic life skills. Sorya e.V. has been promoting education and livelihoods in the rural area of Takeo Province since 2002.
Sorya works with twelve full-time, local employees in Rovieng Municipality, south of the capital Phnom Penh. They carry out our projects and lead the ongoing activities in close cooperation with Sorya e.V. and its partners.
Our weavers make high-quality silk scarves on traditional looms in Sorya's silk factory. These scarves are sold under the ROVIENG brand. The proceeds can be used to finance a large part of Sorya's work. The always prevailing goal is self-sufficiency in rural Cambodia. Thus, the main income of a household is generated by the management of its own rice and vegetable field. The silk craft is the only way for most women to earn a little money in addition to the hard field work. Sorya wants to put the development of each individual in the foreground. Motivated women should be given the opportunity to live out their creativity and realize their own ideas. After all, their training and knowledge should go so far that in the future it will be these women who will be able to successfully continue the small silk manufactory on their own. We hope that you will accompany us "on the way to
small silk manufactory".
