She's making jewelry now...
I came into jewelry making quite by accident. I spent many years in school getting a BS, MSc, and PhD in Zoology. One day I took a jewelry making class and fell in love. Soon I started making items for friends and family. Many more classes followed, introducing me to new techniques and styles. In not too long, I realized I loved doing it so much that I wanted to sell my creations and share them with the world. Soon jewelry making took over my life. I find it incredibly rewarding to create beautiful things for others to love and wear.
Some of the techniques I enjoy the most are wire wrapping, stringing, silversmithing, and making my own charms, rings, and other things from Art Clay Silver - a precious metal clay that is made from finely ground pure silver and organic binders. When you fire your silver clay creations in a kiln, the organic binders burn off and you are left with pure silver. Its a lot of fun to create new designs using this material. I also enjoy searching for the right combination of charms and gemstones to make meaningful items. My designs tend towards the simple, because I feel that you should be able to wear most jewelry all the time without needing a special occasion. However, I also enjoy creating pieces that really stand out for those times when you do need something gorgeous and unique.
Most of the pieces in this shop are designed around the concepts and symbols from ancient religions & cultures, including those from Zen Buddhism, Yoga, Ancient Celts & Pagans - including Celtic knots and Viking & Nordic runes, Greek & Roman mythology, and Christian, Middle Eastern & Egyptian cultures. In addition, I love Fantasy literature, so you will also see designs here inspired by other worlds, such as found in The Lord of the Rings. I also love to make beautiful gemstone creations with healing or inspiring gemstones and color combinations.
I have two other Etsy shops in which I sell designs that fall outside this design theme. These shops include CuteAndFun, which is full of fun and sometimes silly things - to feed the whimsical side of my soul and WinterberryJewelry, which features simple, modern designs based on nature and the things people love - such as sports, careers, and eachother. Check out these shops to see more of my designs.

CREDIT CARDS WELCOME... You can either use Paypal to pay by credit card, or you can pay with credit card directly through Etsy. I do not ever see your card number.
International customers: I am sorry but I do not accept personal checks or money orders from banks outside the USA. Please use Paypal or credit card. Please note that the buyer (you) are responsible for any customs fees charged by your country. I do not pay these fees. The full value of the item will be displayed on the package. Marking it as a gift will not help you avoid customs fees, in most cases.
Need Priority Mail or Express Mail? If you would like to upgrade to Priority Mail or Express mail, you can select those options during the checkout process. There is a spot in the right hand side of the page with mailing options. Priority and Express are available in the USA - international orders ship insured first class mail.
My shipping costs include cost of packaging materials, insurance, and the postage.
Ordering as a gift? Or shipping to an address other than your Paypal address? Let me know so I can make sure the item goes to the correct address.
I no longer include a copy of the receipt in with the packages. If you would like a hard copy, you can print one out from the Purchases section of your Etsy account. If you would like a copy included with your order, let me know. If your country's customs laws require a copy of the receipt, PLEASE let me know this ahead of time.
Check out my fun side at cuteandfun.etsy.com and my modern side at winterberryjewelry.etsy.com... If you purchase from two or more of my shops, I will combine shipping and refund you the difference.
Refunds and Exchanges
I will repair/exchange items that were damaged in transit. Please contact me, and send the item back. Exchanges will be issued only following receipt of the item.
If a package is lost in transit and you reside within the USA, I will send another, following inquiry with the post office. All packages have tracking and delivery confirmation. International orders: Items can take up to a month or more to arrive. Most orders over $30 are insured and the insurance policy requires a wait of 30-45 days (sometimes more for certain countries) before a request can be made to get reimbursed. Please contact me if you item has not arrived within 1 month and we can start the process.
All items are inspected prior to shipping, since they are hand made. However, sometimes things break. In the unlikely chance that something breaks while you are wearing it, I am happy to repair it. Just send the item back to me and I'll fix it and return it to you at no cost. Please consider using delivery confirmation and/or insurance, as I cannot replace or repair items that were lost in transit back to me
Returns for other reasons: If you are unhappy with your purchase or my service, please let me know right away! I'll do everything in my power to make it right. If you decide you would like to return your purchase, for any reason, do it within 7 days of receipt of your order and I will refund your full purchase price. Generally shipping is not refundable. Please return the item, unworn, in original packaging (box, gift bag). I cannot issue refunds for items not received back, so you may wish to insure the package and use Delivery Confirmation services. Custom (personalized) orders may not be returnable -- please contact me for details.
