Roz Petalz Beadz - A True Story
Well, it all started about 20 years ago when Kathy’s bead habit was getting very expensive. So she decided to try her hand at making beads from polymer clay. It wasn’t long before she was hooked! After awhile, Kathy actually got pretty good at it & started experimenting with various techniques and styles. The beads and projects began to pile up!
Several years and children later, she left her job as an elementary school teacher to stay at home & focus on raising a family. Kathy decided to use her polymer clay skills (and stash of projects) as a way to help supplement the family’s income. Online selling seemed like a safe place to start. So, Kathy listed a few sets of beads online. After several sales and custom order requests, her confidence grew and Kathy searched for other avenues to take her craft.
Since then, Kathy has participated in many local fairs and festivals. She also consigns her work in local boutiques and art galleries. Kathy teaches classes to both children and adults on polymer clay bead making and polymer clay techniques. She even got her “15 minutes of fame” (well, sort of) in 2011 when a costume designer for Disney Channel bought a necklace from her ETSY shop & one of the stars of “Wizards of Waverly Place” wore it on TV! More recently, her work has been featured in Polymer Café Magazine and she has written articles for the publication, as well.
Kathy continues to experiment with various styles and techniques to hone her ever changing craft. Custom requests are welcome. Kathy is not afraid of a challenge, so it never hurts to ask if you do not see it in her shop. Please check back often to see what’s new.
