Unique lovely rug. My only negative comment is rug was very stiff and dusty but I have added baking soda and vacuumed and it’s fine now. Several compliments on the design of the rug already and I am pleased with it

Rug dealers would get the village women in regions famous for their rugs to weave rugs for them in their homes.
Anatolian rugs stand out not only with their yarn and weave but also with their colors and patterns. Became very famous.
With the Ottoman land opening up to international trade, rug dealing became an important sector for the foreign traders.

Our collection includes rugs from many different regions/cultures because those cultures came to Anatolia long ago and they brought their own understanding of patterns and the art of weaving rugs.

Carpet weaving represents a traditional art, dating back to pre-Islamic times.
During its long history, the art and craft of the woven carpet have integrated with different cultural traditions.

Traces of Byzantine design can be detected, Turkic peoples migrating from Central Asia, as well as Armenian people, Caucasian, and Kurdish tribes either living in or migrating to Anatolia, brought with them their traditional designs.

The history of its designs, motifs and ornaments thus reflects the political and ethnic history and diversity of the area of Asia Minor.
