Absolutely beautiful garment! I have been drooling over RunWithTheTribe's work for years and finally took the plunge with the gypsy tudong. It is even better than I expected. The fabric is of the highest quality, meticulously hand stitched, and feels like it will last a long time. It was a bit stiff when it arrived, but after a couple wears/washes it has softened to a nice natural, slightly fibrous feel. I love the versatility of the design and can't wait to play more with it once the snow melts! I have a feeling it's going to be a big summer wardrobe staple for me! Worth every penny! Thanks so much! Blessings, Mylia

Run With the Tribe was born October 22, 2011 on Etsy as a "made-to-order" shop, an endeavor that had been met with a strong & steady momentum from the start. Almost exactly two years later, October 11, 2013, I found myself sailing forward as a stocked boutique with an independent selling platform, www.runwiththetribe.us, as the natural next-level progression. ...And here we are!
From a quaint waterfall stationed carriage house in Ithaca, NY, I hone my craft and run the business. A one woman production~ I design, manufacture, model, photograph, present and promote this work.
It is important to me that the clothing I wear be practical, versatile, comfortable and oh-so-chic. Between growing up in the North East and a love for travel, my style has always been centered around layering for easy adaptation to seasonal and situational changes. What a frustration it always was to find staple layering pieces I could really live in and layer with ease. Where were the clothes that flatter and had fabrics which felt good to my sensitive skin, in colors I love? Where were the clothes I could comfortably work in, play in, chase my son in while still looking elegant? Where were the clothes I could just be myself in; enhancing my inner self in compliment to my outer projection? ... It seemed the only way I could "get on with my life" was to take care of the wardrobe issue.
In my mission to bring justice to this vision, I have sought out the finest materials~ choosing organic, natural, sustainable, and socially responsible resources as much as possible. To take it one step further, I have chosen a slow manufacturing process to infuse higher intention and aesthetic into each piece. The fabrics are hand-dyed in studio for a customized color palette. The clothing I offer is entirely hand-stitched, without aid of a sewing machine, for a construction thoughtfully considered, durable, and unlike anything usually seen in our day-to-day. The finished product reflects emphasis on the process, the moment. The fancy flash of exposed hand-stitched seams catches the eye to pull the voyer out of the mundane and into a moment of whimsey & curiosity. I like to think I am creating a living painting with each piece I send out into the world.
This craft tempers my creative restlessness, soothes my wanderlust, healing my lone-wolf nature. "Run With the Tribe" had been named with the set intention to call out to the Tribe of others riding the dream, rising within the creative vibration ~ those who take on life with the integrity, courage, strength and grace of a warrior, honoring both the Light & Dark.
The full collection of my latest work can be found in the new independent RWTT webshop:
"Even though our path is completely different from the warrior arts of the past, it is not necessary to abandon totally the old ways. Absorb venerable traditions into this new Art by clothing them with fresh garments, and build on the classic styles to create better forms." ~ The Art of Peace, Morihei Ueshiba

How do I wash my RWTT garments?
Garment care instructions will arrive with the package. All my clothes are made with easy care in mind!
▹Machine wash gentle cycle warm/cold water with a mild, natural detergent. Tumble dry medium heat.
More delicate pieces, such as lingerie, require hand wash & hang dry.
Are you accepting custom orders or size requests?
I am not accepting custom requests at this time. What is in stock is what I have. Get it while you can!
What kind of dyes do you use?
Procion dyes: low-impact, fiber reactive dyes that actually bond to the fabric at a molecular level. These dyes are synthetic and color fast.
The color on my garment is a bit uneven, is this a defect?
No. Slight variations in color can be expected with hand dyed fabrics. Some hand dyed fabrics will have a mottled look, which is an intentional feature of the garment. I do my best to translate the dyed colors accurately in listing photographs, but please understand that due to computer monitor settings and multi dimensional nature of the hues, colors may look a bit different in person.
Where do your materials come from?
I have taken great consideration in finding material sources I feel good about ~ supporting fellow small businesses as much as possible, along with socially & ecologically conscious fabric manufacturers. I am happy to answer any questions about material origins, although I do not disclose the contact information for my suppliers as a rule.
Do you use a sewing machine?
No. All of my garments are completely hand stitched with silk finish cotton threads ~ making each piece absolutely one of a kind!
