About

I am driven by my affinity for metal.

About the Designer
I began making jewelry as a freshman at Massachusetts College of Art and Design in 2007. My childhood has certainly affected my art and jewelry. I grew up in Western Massachusetts in a big farm house that was built in the late 18th century. A haunted house, antique rusted plows, eerie fields with wild horses and enchanted gardens. As a child I was always drawn to making and building; in a floral dress but with tomboy flare.
About the Collections
Metalsmithing is an intuitive craft for Lauren Passenti. Her work is crafted with classic metalsmithing techniques and raw materials; think hammers, anvils, torches, sheets of silver and round brass wire. Her affinity for the material is what drives her to the work bench. The jewelry that she designs is alive with intention; it embodies heavy hammer marks and fine attention to the details of craftsmanship. Industrial decay and botanical fiction inspire Passenti's work resulting in dense wrought wears.

'Every hammer mark in my jewelry is a layer of physical expression and energy. As a metalsmith, I practice the fundamentals of my craft and then I take risks working in a loose and expressionistic manner.'
