Creating rustic-and-vintage-style treasures, from my heart to your home!

My vision all began with a sign-making technique I saw on Pinterest. I used that technique to create a set of signs to gift to my mom, and she loved them. After playing around with some other lettering and painting methods, I decided to take my hobby to the next level and open a shop. I'm always looking for new ideas to keep my shop and my products fresh and relevant!

Welcome to Mayfair Market Signs, formerly Rustic DeSigns! I hand make all of my signs from my home in Shreveport, LA. I distress each sign to take on a vintage, aged look that's full of character, and I finish each piece with a clear acrylic sealer to protect the look.

I am committed to providing you with handsome, well-made signs that you and your family can treasure for years to come. All lettering on all of my signs is painted on--there is no vinyl on any of my finished signs. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask by clicking my "contact" button. I check messages frequently, so I will most likely get back to you the same day.

Payment
I accept credit cards, Etsy gift cards, and payments through PayPal.

I require that custom orders be paid for in full before I begin production on them.

If you wish to cancel your order, I ask that you inform me within 24 hours after it was placed.
Shipping
Here is some general shipping information:

- In-stock signs (also referred to as ready-to-ship or pre-made signs) will ship within 1-2 business days of your payment clearing.

- Made-to-order signs take 6 weeks to complete after payment is received.

- Custom/personalized orders (including signs in the "Design Your Own Sign" section) will take 6 weeks to make after payment is received.

- Orders will be shipped to the address you have on file with Etsy/PayPal. Please check it prior to submitting an order! Anything returned to me due to an incorrect address will either: A) result in new shipping charges, which will be the responsibility of the buyer; or B) be refunded minus the shipping charges.
There will be no refunds on missing packages due to an incorrect address.


{DOMESTIC SHIPPING}
Within the US, your item(s) will ship USPS Priority Mail or FedEx. Delivery to most United States locations takes approximately 2-4 days. When your order ships, I will send you a notification via Etsy with your tracking number so you will know when to expect it.


{INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING}
International purchases of signs measuring 20" or less in length will be sent via United States Postal Service First Class mail. Larger signs will be sent via Priority Mail international* and are subject to a higher cost. For Priority-sent International packages, the USPS estimates delivery in around 6-10 business days, but delivery times can vary based on specific location.

Customs fees, import taxes, etc. assessed for international purchases are the buyer's responsibility. Undelivered items (or items where delivery is refused) that are returned to me will receive partial refunds, excluding shipping fees and a 10% restocking fee. All international packages will be marked as "merchandise" with the actual selling price declared.

*Depending on the size or weight of your sign, it may be shipped via FedEx. The listing will note which service will be used to ship each sign.

I do not charge a handling or processing fee. The fee for shipping is what the shipping carrier quotes me for the service.
Refunds and Exchanges
My goal is for each and every customer to be 100% satisfied with their purchase from Mayfair Market Signs. Customers who are, for any reason, dissatisfied with their purchase should contact me directly within 7 days of receiving their order to inquire about a refund or exchange.

In cases of buyer's remorse or a change of heart, the buyer will be responsible for return shipping. A refund of the original purchase price will be issued upon receipt of the item in its original condition.

Personalized and custom items that cannot be resold to other customers do not qualify for full refunds; however, in the event that you are unhappy with your personalized sign, I would be happy to make the necessary modifications to the existing piece. Buyers are responsible for return shipping and re-shipping costs.

If your sign is determined lost by USPS/FedEx, please contact me and I will be happy to ship a replacement, with no extra charges to you.

All Priority Mail shipments are covered by USPS Insurance; if your item arrives damaged, please send me a convo or email as soon as possible along with at least one photo to serve as proof of damage. I will be more than happy to re-make and re-ship your item, but not until the insurance claim is paid out. This may mean waiting a few weeks for your new item.
***PLEASE do NOT throw away your damaged sign.***
In some cases, the USPS requires the buyer to bring the damaged item into their local post office as proof of damage. Please note that work on your replacement sign cannot begin until this is done and the insurance claim has been paid out.
Additional policies and FAQs
{WOOD TEXTURE & CHARACTER}
> The rustic, unrefined nature of the wood I use lends a sense of uniqueness to the signs I create. I make no attempt to cover any natural blemishes (cracks, knots, nail holes, etc.) that occur within the wood I use, as I believe they add exceptional character to each piece.

> Due to the wood's natural unique characteristics, no two signs will be exactly alike.


{STAIN VARIATIONS}
> The wood stain I use may appear different on your finished sign than those you see pictured in my shop or on a computer mock-up I send to you for approval. This is because much of my wood comes from different places and varies in the natural tone, therefore, it will take stain differently and vary from piece to piece. Any pictured sign that is stained acts only as a representation of a tone that will be similar to the color on your sign.


{COLOR VARIATIONS}
> I have made every attempt to accurately represent my paint colors on my color chart; however, these colors may display differently on your computer monitor/mobile device. Take a look at the signs in my shop to get a better sense of the colors I use, or send me a convo and I would be happy to send you photos of my colors in different lighting.


{SIGN MEASUREMENTS}
> I do my very best to be as accurate as possible when measuring my board sizes, though the sizes may be off by up to 1/4". For example, a 16" long sign may range from 15 3/4" to 16 1/4". If you are planning for your sign to fit into a specific measured area and need an exact size, please let me know and I will very carefully measure to ensure the size is exact.


{FONT SELECTION}
> Signs in the "Design Your Own" section are completely customizable, down to the font and colors. When placing your order for these signs, please remember to include the font or fonts you would like used on your sign. If you do not choose a font, I will use the default #3 Charlotte font.


{INTERIOR/EXTERIOR SEALANT}
Each sign I make will be coated with a sealant. By default, your sign will receive a coat of interior polyurethane. If you are planning on hanging your sign outside, please send me a message or note with your order asking that I use exterior varnish to seal it. A sign placed outdoors that has been coated with interior-grade polyurethane may fade in color, warp, and/or begin to peel and chip.
