Sasha, I just received my earrings and I love them, just the perfect size and as pictured. I have to tell you I found your site, from Elementary, I always look as what Lucy Liu wears, and I noticed your earrings, from Worn on TV, Thank you, I will keep following you, Carol
The story so far.
Sasha Bell Jewelry was created when I started listing and selling my items on Etsy in 2008. I had taken a small object and jewelry design program many years previously but did not ever have the opportunity to apply myself full time to making jewelry. That was until I moved to Los Angeles from rural British Columbia, Canada to be with my husband. While I waited for my green card, I was able to finally spend some serious time with my torch and hammer and then also that same year discovered Etsy. I had no intention or idea that it would evolve into this full time endeavor for me, and it has been a really exciting journey to say the least.
I currently run a one woman operation from my home based studio located in the Northeast corner of Los Angeles, CA. I sell primarily on Etsy and occasionally do open house events at my space for retail as well. I have done small amounts of wholesale in the past but have recently decided to put that aside to focus solely on retail again. I have also had part time assistants come and go through the years but have finally settled on doing what I am able to do alone being the most satisfying for me. I do everything from top to bottom in my business except for the casting and mold making which I outsource.
My product line has really evolved organically over the years that I have been making and learning to make jewelry. Most designs are developed through elements found in copyright free pattern books (Dover), a pattern in a rug/tile/wallpaper, doodling, specific design creation projects, and learning new tool and skill driven techniques.. ie, if I get a new tool or learn a new technique, then designs tend to change in that direction. My work includes cast items, things assembled from both cast and hand cut metal, and then also hand cut and forged items as well. I love moving metal around and continually strive to learn new techniques. I am also a self confessed tool junky. Long story short: I am so grateful that I get to call this my job. Thank you to all of you for your support over the years, I couldn't do this without you!
