Announcement
When bringing in the corn harvest on the family farms during the 1800's in Appalachia, neighbors would gather for a "Shuckin". While the ladies made a big meal, the men would get to work on their pile of corn to find the corn licker buried at the bottom. The first to find a red corn cob in the teenagers pile got to kiss their sweetheart. Little girls and babies were entertained by making corn shuck dolls. Dolls were as varied as the talent and time allowed.
My truly one of a kind unique dolls are named and numbered . I hope you enjoy this craft of times gone by that I learned to make as a young girl. Thank You
Karen W. Collis
