I love this! So unique, and very well made. I had a lot of questions/concerns before placing my order, and Sylvaine was very responsive and patient throughout. Prompt turn around and shipping on the order, as well. Thanks very much!

Amazing piece, so beautifully made. I absolutely adore it and haven't taken it off since purchase. Sylvaine accommodated a minor customisation for me and I had it within 1.5 weeks mailed from UK to AU. Will definitely be purchasing from her again!
Jewellery that tells a story, handmade on the south coast of England by a French designer/maker.

I have always been a true art lover, drawing was my first passion, as a jewellery designer I naturally tend to create jewels which tells stories and are easy to wear for any occasion: accessories which add a quirky touch to a smart dress or a hint of Elegance to a casual dress. I often use designs which take people back to their childhood and make them dream and smile. I like to associate organic shapes with geometric lines. Nature is an inspiration, especially the small details which can be overlooked. I see faces in everything and they appear a lot in my work. All my jewels are made of silver often combined with other materials : resin, gold, stones, wood, pearls… I use many different techniques and like to imagine systems to give movement to my pieces which make them truly unique. Also, after having a new idea, I make a lot of sketches which guide me to choose the best design and the most appropriate technique. I aim to make high quality original pieces which are nice to touch and feel and a joy to wear.
From the age of 15, I focused on art & design subjects at school, which was a real chance and helped me develop my own style. Graduated from a professional school of jewellery and silversmithing in Brittany, my traditional jewellery background is a mainstay for my work as a jewellery designer and maker.
After finishing my studies in 2009, I decided to start my own business and I moved to England, I settled in Brighton: an artistic and cosmopolitan town on the south coast . A year later I decided to open my ETSY shop. I work in a jewellery workshop alongside other freelance jewellers. For the past few years I've been working on my own collections and developed my technical skills, notably stone setting and engraving. Generally the time flies when I'm in my workshop, I'm not a morning person but it can be difficult to take me out of the there if I'm working on a new piece. It can get quite addictive and exciting.I can't work without making a mess on my bench using a wide variety of tools. Every tiny tools has a precise use and is personal to each makers. I also need a sketch book and a pencil when I'm creating a new piece, some good music, chocolate is a great bonus. I always like to think about new designs, I often find new ideas late in the night, just before sleeping.
I participate in different craft shows all year round.(http://sylvaineart.com/events-craftshows/) I'm a member of the Sussex guild of designers and makers, the association organise crafts shows and exhibitions in a wide variety of venues.

Owner, Maker, Designer, Curator
I'm a French jewellery designer/maker based in Brighton (UK). I create silver jewellery that tells stories. My designs are inspired by innocence of childhood, beauty of nature and the magic of dreams which fire her imagination.
My creations are all handmade in sterling silver ( stamped 925 + my initials SF)
I use other materials including exotic wood, natural pearls, precious stones and resin.
Attention to detail is very important to me and I strive to make each piece as good as the last. I want all of my jewels to be high quality, nice to feel and to wear.
