About

80s is vintage

According to Merriam Webster dictionary term VINTAGE was first used in the 16th century. It simply identified the same year grapes were harvested and wine was produced from that single harvest. Because wine made from same year harvest was and still is higher quality than blend wine, VINTAGE became associated with high quality.

When it comes to things, wearable things in particular, VINTAGE is applied to at least 20 years old garments. I personally believe simply being 20 years old is not enough to become VINTAGE. When I apprise a dress, or a skirt, or a pair of shoes, deciding if it is worth all that cleaning / ironing / photographing / listing efforts, I look for exceptional qualities such as unique design, outstanding craftsmanship, vivid colors, or charismatic individuality. I typically assess all newly found items from the point of view potentially having a big screen moment. If I can envision that garment dressing up a movie character, then it is totally going to be in my shop.

I hope you enjoy selection offered and will find treasure speaking to your heart.

Additional policies and FAQs
I use following VINTAGE condition classification system:
* DEAD STOCK - garment was never worn tags or partial tags are still attached
* LIKE NEW ( MINT ) - garment looks never worn has no tags and its fabric demonstrates minimal wear from aging (if any)
* EXCELLENT - garment looks worn very little has no flaws and its fabric demonstrates minimal wear from aging (if any)
* VERY GOOD - garment looks worn has only minor flaws (if any) confined to a small area and minimal to moderate wear from aging. I only pick items in VERY GOOD condition if the flaws and wear are counterbalanced by another feature, like brilliant color or unique design. Flaws and general wear will definitely be listed in garment's description.
* I typically do not bother working with garments in less than VERY GOOD condition. If I do, I carefully list all its flaws.

Please remember, vintage garments are NOT new and can not be expected to look new. Even DEAD STOCK condition garments are at least 20-30 years old.

* All garments are kept in smoke free, pet free, and dust free studio. They are laundered or dry cleaned (except DEAD STOCK ones) and ironed prior to shipping and will arrive ready to be worn. Cotton and rayon items will need additional ironing because they will be folded for shipping.

* Vintage sizes are typically much smaller than modern sizes. If there is marked size, I will mention it. I do INSIST you using garment's actual measurements instead. The best way to ensure proper fitting of any vintage garment is to pick a similar in style good fitting garment from YOUR own wardrobe, measure your garment laying flat, and compare your measurements with measurements listed in my description. I will also list recommended BEST FIT size for each item. Please do understand, recommended BEST FIT sizes are simply estimates. As a professional seamstress I will be happy to advise on how to go through the process of measuring yourself correctly, do not hesitate to ask.

* Actual colors might slightly vary from what they look like on your screen. Usually close up photographs represent garment's true colors and textures best.
