About

Artist & Illustrator

Lifetime artist and digital illustrator, I studied Fashion Communications at Ryerson University in pursuit of a creative career, only to come back to the thing she loved the most which is drawing.

As many artists, I felt fear around the subject of labelling myself as one, and for many years I searched for another term that sounded less risky. Overtime, I have come to be proud to call myself an artist and when people ask me if I do this as a hobby, I very much enjoy letting them know that this is my full-time job! I have been fortunate to work with companies such as Saks Fifth Avenue, Cartier, Town Shoes, and Toronto Men's & Women's Fashion week at such a young age and I hope to help guide other aspiring artists in the future so they may build a successful art career of their own.

I grew up in what used to be a small town just North of Toronto, called Newmarket. With parents of both languages, I went to an all-French catholic elementary school and then jumped to a public high school after that. Being fluent in the French language has been very useful for me over the years and I now use it to communicate with French clients or to adorn my work with the language... Des Belles Fleures, anyone?

After high school, I decided to go to Ryerson University for the Fashion Communications program. At the time, it sounded like the perfect program that would allow me a creative - but steady - career. Throughout the course of University, I began to specialize in Fashion Illustration and posting my work online. To my surprise, I quickly found out I could make money with my little drawings and so my career began!

After graduating university, I obtained a few (yes three) part-time jobs to pay my downtown-Toronto-rent and did whatever I could in my free time to continue drawing and work on the odd commissions that came my way. In December of 2017, I suddenly got very busy with commissions and live sketching opportunities, so I decided to take the plunge and dive into my career full-time. I haven't looked back since!

I was lucky enough to become represented by one of Canada's best illustration agencies in April of 2018, with the goal of expanding my work beyond solely fashion illustration. I love to draw animals, lifestyle, food and botanicals and I wanted to start incorporating those into my work much more.

One of my favourite things to do that comes up a lot in my work is to create "modern takes" on vintage posters, ads and banners that were created in the early to mid 1900's. Since I use my iPad for all of my work, I can use different brush techniques to add a subtle vintage look and I love the use of weighted line-work to emphasize certain areas of an illustration.

Today, I continue to develop and expand my style with a touch of curiosity and a whole lot of passion. I work with clients to create custom portraits, editorial illustration, advertisements and more. Live sketching/painting is a fun way for me to share my work with new people and take part in some of the city's most exquisite events.

I feel very grateful to be able to share my passion and skills with my audience and I encourage others to do the same.
