Thank you for the taking time to visit my shop and view the artwork.

I live with my husband in rural Nova Scotia, Canada, and run my business from a home-based studio. Here I paint, pack, ship and do all other leg work required to keep things running smoothly. When I'm not in the studio, I like to walk in the woods or along the beach. Getting outdoors refreshes the creative spirit, so I like to get out often.

Every painting in my shop is a one-of-a-kind original acrylic painting. I do not reproduce my work as prints, so the painting you invest in is a true original hand-painted quality piece of art. Some ideas are further explored in similar works, resulting in a series of original paintings, but each piece always retains its own uniqueness.

All of my work is done on premium quality professional grade gallery wrapped canvas, staples on back, not sides. Only professional grade acrylic paints are used and each piece is sealed with a clear coat of gloss varnish to protect against ultra violet rays. Sides are painted so your painting is ready to hang right out of the box.

All work is photographed outdoors to ensure an accurate colour reading. Please keep in mind that computer monitors do not always show colour in exactly the same way.

All work is done in a smoke free environment.

Lay-away plans are available, please inquire.

PLEASE LIKE my Facebook Page to see what's new and get artist commentary on each piece with insights relevant to the work as it's posted:

A little behind the scenes, this is the beginning of my new birch tree forest piece. No trees yet, just some scrubbery that will become the background forest and a vibrant start to the sky and forest floor. ~ Happy Wednesday!

About

Exploring the World of Abstract Art

Primarily a landscape painter, I've always had a secret passion for abstracts. I opened this shop on Etsy so that I could further explore that passion.

I've always felt a connection to landscape. My first love was the field behind our house. It held a great mystery of insects and wildflowers. So my starting point in navigating my way through the world of abstract art was to start with landscape, and from abstract landscapes I worked my way right into the world of abstract expressionism, and back around again to landscape.

Over the past five years I've explored many different aspects of these disciplines and have come to love many of the processes I've discovered. As I move forward, I find there's even more freedom in this style of painting than I had originally imagined, and as a result, have at times completely abandoned my traditional landscape work. What arises instead is a fusion of the two worlds, as seen now in some of my most recent work.

My world has changed for the better and will continue to change in a way that suits me more every day. As things change, so does the art. I find I'm more expressive and daring than ever before, and to my surprise, I'm quite happy with where I'm going. I'm now a full time professional artist living and working in the mountains of B.C., Canada, and loving every minute of it.

I've met so many lovely people and art lovers through this shop that I feel truly blessed to have this creative outlet. So many people have found a connection to the art and are enjoying it in their homes and business that it fills me with joy. Thank you for being a part of my journey!

Thank you for your interest in the artwork and for taking the time to visit.
