About

Saidart is a unique mix of Italian design and ancient Hungarian rustic art

My story is something like in the movie “Under the Tuscan Sun” with Diane Lane - if you have not seen it yet, you should see!!:) Check out the trailer here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=moqovwrR_gE

I came to Italy at the age of 27 after a divorce, leaving my country, my home, and a successful job as a graphic designer. Actually, I jumped plunge into the unknown... I followed a calling to find a lifestyle close to nature, and where I could create, not with a computer, but directly with my hands. After a few years in Rome I met an amazing ceramic artist, and in her studio I rediscovered the pleasure of working with clay and just continued where I had left off years ago, in art school. Now I’m living in middle Italy in a fabulous medieval town, surrounded by olive trees and grapevines. I’m working in my small studio at home, and sell my creations at the artisan markets, with the help of my boyfriend who's my biggest support (yes, I found not only my vocation, but also a new relationship full of love and respect), but my wish is to open a shop/studio in this beautiful hamlet. So, I can tell that all these years full of sacrifices and self-knowledge has started to bear fruit... And now begins a new adventure: I'm here on Etsy to share my art with the whole world!:)

My style is influenced by two completely different worlds. One is the colors and lights of the nature of Italy, and the other one is my ancient Hungarian heritage, which is filled with passion and brute elemental power. Eighty percent of my pieces have this particularity: beautiful, shiny colors alongside a harsh texture. I would like to inspire people not only to look at my work, but also to touch it to experience the beauty as well as the utility.

The name Saidart comes from the words "Saida“ that in arabic means happy, and from “Art”. I’m happy when I create, and this happiness moves the people who understand the nature of my pieces and enjoy them day after day. Bring some happiness to your life with a special Saidart creation made from my heart!

If you like an item already sold, or you would like something personalized, please feel free to contact me at any time and I will be happy to help you!

I'm a Hungarian girl living in Italy. Few years ago I finally realized my dream and restarted to work with clay, which is an amazing, living material. I love transforming this simple substance into something special and elegant.
