Saini Studio Story
Saini Studio was founded in 2015 by Georgian artists and designers’ family couple – Nino Slepchenko and Levan Vateishvili. First, inspiration came to Nino when she was asked by her niece to make a tattoo design which would be connected to Georgia. So, it was distinguished and beautiful Georgian script that became a source of inspiration for future studio’s art-director and founder. By uniting mathematics, geometry, rotation technology and artistic approach Nino created her first ornament based on a Georgian letter – T.
Nino now has developed around 2000 unique copyrighted ornaments that cannot be found anywhere else. Each letter of the Georgian alphabet, which is by the way among the 14 most ancient alphabets in the world, gives almost endless variations of beautiful and mesmerizing ornaments.
With these unique designs we started to create high-end dinnerware. “Saini” in Georgian means a plate, so this is why the name was chosen according to the first items produced by a start-up family studio. Today, our tiny team of several like-minded people, also produces exclusive interior and exterior design products like lighting, decorative mirrors, ceramic tiles, floor and wall mosaic, jewelry, home decor items made of wood, natural stones and fabric. Hopefully, all of these marvelous items will be added to Etsy shop step by step.
Just as our first ornament was created for a family member, with love and joy, we go on with the same love and affection for art with every new item we create. For us, it is especially important that we spread the word about culture and history of our beautiful country by designing ornaments based on its unique alphabet.
