This duffel is unique, seems durable (I've already abused it by using it to haul a ton of heavy stuff across the city), and is awesome for gifting to any sailor friends. Also, it was nicely packed complete with sailboat tape on the package!

The story behind Salty Sail

The last 14 years I spent most of my time working at marinas or sailing in the Aegean Sea.

During these years I have seen many old materials like sails and ropes remaining unused in a storage or thrown to the garbage. As a craftsman with seamanship knowledge I decided to give a second life to all these materials by upcycling them.

At the beginning I was just making them for use on the boat or for friends. But little by little, I saw that more and more friends were asking for my items and there was an increasing demand for them. So I decided to open a shop on Etsy.

Daily I'm trying to collect treasures like these from sailmakers, marinas and Greek beaches and transform them to useful items for sailors, sportsmen and sea enthusiasts.
Most of my salvaged sails coming from racing yachts, still carry the salt from the last race. Thus the name Salty Sail!

Each item in my shop carries a small piece of sailing adventure from the Greek Sea.

Sailing is my passion you might say it's my whole life. I'm a full time Marine Electrician, a semipro sailor and a passionate craftsman. I spend my free time sailing around the Greek islands and creating sea related items.
