Hago hermosos recuerdos para que recuerdes tus vacaciones o tu boda de destino en Sanibel, Captiva, Ft. Myers.
Siempre me ha encantado Florida. He vivido cerca de Sanibel de vez en cuando desde finales de los 90. Pero desde el huracán Ian, me mudé a Tennessee.
Para hacer las cuentas, colgantes y collares, empiezo por recolectar arena de las playas locales de Sanibel, Captiva y Ft. Myers para usarla en mis creaciones de joyería. Elaboro todas las joyas en mi estudio casero.
Para mí, la calidad de los materiales es fundamental para crear una pieza que luzca, se sienta y dure bien. Al crear mi propio vidrio fundido y lampwork, puedo añadir arena de las playas que he recolectado. También utilizo conchas que encuentro y las que compro en la zona. Incorporar las conchas y la arena directamente al vidrio puede ser complicado, así que ideé mi propia técnica para lograrlo con éxito. El resultado son piezas únicas para guardar en el hogar.
Después de hacer las piezas de cuentas, cabujones o vidrio fundido, me gusta usar alambre sólido de calidad para hacer las envolturas y los enganches de los colgantes y aretes. Compro cadenas hermosas por pie y hago mis propios collares, y también compro cadenas prefabricadas de Rio Grande Jewelry en EE. UU.
Utilizo plata fina, plata esterlina, cobre, bronce y latón, oro relleno y alambre y cadena rellenos de oro rosa para hacer que las joyas se vean hermosas y sean duraderas. También me gusta usar acabados de cuero griego, seda, algodón y cáñamo para una apariencia terrosa. Tengo una caja de herramientas que contiene una variedad de técnicas y habilidades que comencé a aprender en la infancia. Siempre me ha gustado hacer y crear cosas. A lo largo de los años he trabajado con muchos medios. Todavía disfruto experimentando con diferentes técnicas y también trato de crear algunas propias. La naturaleza es definitivamente mi mayor fuente de inspiración, contiene una increíble cantidad de diseños, colores y patrones, es una obra maestra viva y que respira. Aprecio los matices de la luz, el clima, las estaciones, los lugares y todos los habitantes que los disfrutan. Mi proceso creativo implica usar la memoria y la imaginación, lo que supongo que es una combinación de todo hasta este punto.

Al diseñar una nueva pieza, la bosquejo en detalle o disfruto explorando los materiales que tengo frente a mí y comienzo a jugar.

Soy un artista autodidacta y también disfruto enseñando tanto a adultos como a niños, me encanta transmitir lo que sé a los demás.

En mi opinión, el proceso de creación es tan importante como el producto final. Si te entusiasma y te apasiona lo que haces, se reflejará en el resultado final. Creo que la perfección es para las máquinas; me encanta y prefiero el aspecto de las piezas orgánicas hechas a mano. También disfruto pintar, y mi estilo tiende a ser libre, impresionista y lleno de colores alegres. Me gusta incluir un minimarcapáginas-tarjeta de notas de acuarela original con cada pedido como obsequio.

I make lovely keepsake Souvenirs to remind you of your Sanibel, Captiva, Ft. Myers vacation or destination wedding.
I have always loved Florida. I have lived near Sanibel off and on since the late 90s. But since the hurricane Ian, I moved to Tennessee.
To make the beads, pendants and necklaces, I start by gathering the sand from the local beaches of Sanibel, Captiva and Ft. Myers to use in my jewelry creations. I make all of the jewelry in my home studio.
Quality materials are important to me when coming up with a piece that looks, feels and wears well. When making my own lampwork and fused glass I have the ability to add sand from the beaches that I have collected. I also use shells that I found and locally purchased ones. It can be challenging to incorporate the shells and sand directly into the glass, so I came up with my own technique to do it successfully. The result is one-of-a-kind keepsake treasures.
After making the bead, cabochon or fused glass pieces, I like to use quality solid metal wire for making the wire wraps and bails for the pendants and earrings. I buy beautiful chain by the foot and make my own necklaces and also, I buy pre-made ones from Rio Grande Jewelry in the USA.
I use fine silver, sterling, copper, bronze and brass, gold filled, and rose gold filled wire and chain to make the jewelry lovely looking and long lasting. I also like to use Greek leather, silk, cotton, and hemp finishings for an earthy look. I have a toolbox that contains a variety of techniques and skills that I began to learn in childhood. I have always loved making and creating things. Over the years I have worked with many mediums. I still enjoy experimenting with different techniques and try to come up with some of my own as well. Nature is definitely my biggest source of inspiration, it contains an incredible number of designs, colors and patterns, it's a living and breathing created masterpiece. I appreciate the nuances of light, weather, seasons, locations and all the inhabitants that enjoy them. My creative process involves using memory and imagination, which I guess is a combination of everything up to this point. 

In designing a new piece, I either sketch it out in detail or enjoy exploring the materials in front of me and start to play. 

I am a self-taught artist and also enjoy teaching both adults and children, I love to pass on what I know to others.

In my opinion, the process of making something is just as important, as the product. If you are exhilarated by and love what you do it will show in the finished work. I think that perfection is for machines, I love and prefer the look of hand tooled organic pieces. I also enjoy painting, and my style tends to be loose, free and impressionistic with lots of happy colors. I like to include a mini original watercolor bookmark-note card with each order as a free gift.
