Announcement   Life's changes mean it's time for minimizing, simplifying; time to destash, declutter, let go. Moved into a smaller place, some travel treasures found no space. Closing my boutique of the 1980s, left so many gorgeous accessories. Lovely treasures from my past, can be your treasures now at last. Museum sales yield many treasures, sure to bring you many pleasures. Gained lots of weight to my chagrin, I'll never see small sizes again. Climate here is sunny and warm, woolens here are not the norm. A poet I will never be, but please find a treasure for you from me.

There really are (and will be) many beautiful treasures in this shop so try to look through as much as you can, as often as you can. There's something for everyone!

I try to ship purchases quickly but I may need some time to find just the right box for some things. I usually go to the post office once a week (I'm a bit disabled) or twice if I have several orders. I do ship internationally but I need to know the destination and weigh a prepared package before a shipping fee can be determined. I try to recycle packaging as much as possible.

Thank you for looking in my shop! I'm always adding things so come back again soon.

Please check out the unique jewelry I've made, most of which has been inspired by my world travels, in my other shop - SandraDesigns.etsy.com.

About

Destashing a lifetime of adventurous traveling and collecting.

Welcome to my shop filled with treasures from around the world. Now that I'm retired and living in a small place, I've decided to open another Etsy shop to destash, declutter and let go of many treasures I've collected over a long, exciting life. I've lived and worked in four other countries and have traveled extensively all over the world in more than 80 countries. It seems I was a shopaholic while traveling because I collected many wonderful things which I'm willing to share with others now.

I was a boutique owner in Boston for 9 years specializing in color-coordinated quality clothing and fabulous hand-crafted accessories. When New England suffered a bad economic downturn in the early 90s, I had to close my shop. This left me with some beautiful things which I no longer wear. Much of it is jewelry and since I started making jewelry, I only wear my own pieces now (see my other shop - SandraDesigns.etsy.com) I no longer have a need for professional attire nor cold-weather clothing so those things are also available in my shop.

I'm a member of several museums here in San Diego and attend their auctions and sales of items donated but not accessioned into their collections. I've also found many treasures at our local Buddhist temple auctions and at art and craft fairs. I even find the odd treasure at resale shops now and then.

Here are a few comments from HAPPY SHOPPERS who each bought several items: "Thanks so much for helping my home decor take a trip around the world!" and from someone who bought accessories, "Of all the things I have bought on the net I think I am most pleased with these." "Just want you to know how much I enjoy browsing through your shop.....it's a true travel diary."

I list nearly everyday so check back often to find your newest treasure!

Payment
I accept Etsy direct checkout, PayPal payments, and Etsy gift cards.

I will do a "reserve" on an item for up to 3 days.

I do lay-away in 2 installments with half the cost and the shipping fee paid first. The second payment must be within a month. Please be sure you want the item because there will be no refunds on lay-away deposit payments.

In some cases prices may be negotiable so contact me before you purchase.
Shipping
I usually go to a US post office once a week (I am a bit disabled) or twice a week if I have a lot of orders. I will inform you the day I ship. I always ship through the USPS usually first class with a tracking number in US, sometimes priority mail. Priority Mail includes a tracking number and $50 insurance, for US mail, but it's more expensive.

I try to estimate USPS fees but there are many variables (weight, size, distance, packing materials, etc.), and shipping costs have increased. If I overestimate the fee by more than $3, I will issue a partial refund. If I underestimate the fee, I will send you an invoice for the additional cost which I expect you to pay upon receipt. If you want to know a more accurate shipping estimate, send me your US zip code. I will weigh the prepared package first BEFORE you purchase the item and let you know.

If you want to buy several items, contact me first BEFORE purchasing for a combined shipping fee.

***INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING NOTICE*** US postal rates increased in January 2016, especially for international mail. International Priority Mail is more expensive but it now includes insurance, up to $200, and tracking. First Class Mail is cheaper but without tracking or insurance unless you purchase it. I CANNOT be responsible for late or lost shipments, or damaged goods unless you purchase insurance for First Class Mail! Just let me know which method you prefer, and I will provide an estimate.

IMPORTANT: Before I can estimate the correct international first class mail shipping fee, I must know the destination and weigh the unsealed package. I will then notify you of the estimated fee. If you decide to purchase, then I will add your location and shipping fee to the listing.

5 Star Positive Reviews on items received is greatly appreciated! This is important to me and other buyers who like to know what to expect. To leave a review, go to "your account" upper right, scroll down to "purchases and reviews", find the order, click on the fifth star, and leave a comment or two.

Your order will be carefully packaged. I try to use recycled materials whenever possible when shipping orders.
Refunds and Exchanges
As most of the items in this shop are vintage, I try to describe the condition thoroughly, with several photos, but you must remember that vintage items are usually not perfect. I feel I provide sufficient information and photos to help you make a final decision. Therefore there are no refunds unless you are very sure it has been misrepresented. In that case, a refund will be made minus the shipping fee, and a $5 restocking fee on items of $20+. You must return the item in the same condition as it was sent to you within 7 business days of receiving it.

I try to wrap all items carefully but If an item is damaged, or lost, in the shipping to you, I cannot be responsible unless you have paid for insurance.
Additional policies and FAQs
As most of the items in this shop are vintage, I cannot do custom orders, wholesale pricing or consignment.
