Santa Fe Blues' Story: In the early 1980's, Santa Fe Blues was born in Dexter, New Mexico. Dexter Blues sounded like a jazz group. Because I make quilts from denim jeans, the name seems appropriate. I also use souvenir t-shirts, sweatshirts or other articles of clothing for the Memory Quilts. Shirts are cut into blocks. The block consists of the shirt + batting + back of shirt, or shirt + denim. The border is made either from the t-shirt material or the denim and then it is clip for the frayed look.

I moved from New Mexico, to Texas, and now I live in Ridgewood, New Jersey. A Memory Quilt is a wonderful way to save an important part of your life. Recently, I have been creating quilts, baptism blankets, and Christmas tree skirts from wedding gowns. Everything that I make is original. I would love to create a quilt from your shirts! I also have ready made quilts for sale. These Memory Quilts will last for generations!
