'Photo Art Portraits' is a series I made of ‘recycled’ portraits. Photos that I had disgarded because they had failed their original purpose. I felt challenged to re-use these photos in a new work of art. Inspired by shapes of the body, I made collages by layering different photos on top of each other.

I get my inspiration by the small things in life. Life is full of movement and tension. Sometimes different elements unexpectedly come together and create a special image or atmosphere. Life is never still, but photography is and therefore can capture these unique moments that can create powerful images.
In my photography I look for emotion and expression and movement versus stillness. I find this in landscapes and cityscapes, but also in people. I try to capture things just as they are as I see them around me. Most photographs I make are therefore not or very little edited and I use natural light and don't stage anything.
I love traveling because it makes you look at the world with a different eye. After traveling around the world for a few years I now like to travel in Amsterdam, my home town. I trained my self to look at the places where I have been a million times as I have never been there before.
