About

Anatomy of Sarah Belham

I am a one-person army making jewelry out of my little cave in rural Michigan. I make jewelry simply because love it, and I sell it, basically, so I can go out and buy more supplies, and more jewelry for myself. And, let's be honest here, so I can continue on my quest to become the Tattooed Lady of Livingston County.

Body modification and body adornment (all manner thereof) are my absolute passions in life, and I spend a lot of time designing my body decorations. I have been making traditional jewelry for almost two decades now, but I began to make body jewelry for myself in my late teens because I just couldn't find the kinds of ear weights and such that I was envisioning. Now I can't stop making it, it's like a sickness.

Shop policies

Last updated on February 6, 2013
Welcome to Sarah Belham Jewelry and Oddities - I would appreciate it if you would read through these policies if you're considering making a purchase. The first bit is for all orders, and the second bit applies to custom orders only. (Please not that as of February 6, I am not taking custom orders due to health problems I am dealing with, but I will leave my custom order policies here for when I hopefully return to form).

Firstly and most importantly: this jewelry is ONLY FOR HEALED PIERCINGS! If you're not sure whether or not your piercing is healed, chances are it probably is not. If you visit your piercer they will be glad to help you with any questions regarding this. Not everyone can tolerate materials like brass, copper, and gold- and silver-plate. If any redness, irritation or swelling occurs, stop wearing the jewelry immediately and switch to steel, titanium, glass or another inert material.

Ear weights that are not wrapped in string are best worn through another piece of jewelry such as silicone earskins or tunnels. If you have never worn jewelry made of the same material as your Sarah Belham jewelry, make sure to monitor the area of the piercing and watch for any irritation or skin discoloration. Ear weights should not be used for the purpose of stretching - neither should they be worn in freshly stretched piercings.

CUSTOM ORDERS - I would love to design something just for you, to your specifications! I don't tend to keep the more expensive raw materials in stock (like high-grade diamonds or emeralds and solid gold). If you are interested in commissioning a custom piece, I would need to know what kind of gem you want (or what color, if you don't have a specific stone in mind) , and whether you'd like a sterling silver, white gold, or yellow gold setting (the price for a gold piece will be roughly 2.5x the price of the same piece in sterling silver), and any other specifics you would like to provide, like stone shape and size.

I also require a deposit to be put down on custom orders. The rough break down of deposit amounts is as follows:

*Custom labret ends - $10 sterling silver setting, $25 white or yellow gold setting
*Custom ear weights - $10 and up, depending upon materials
*Custom septum and nostril pieces - $5 sterling silver setting, $25 white or yellow gold setting

Upon completion of the custom piece, the deposit amount will be deducted from the final price and you will be required to pay the balance to complete the transaction.

If anything comes up or you have any questions, you can always contact me, and I will be glad to help in any way I can.

Accepted payment methods

  • Money Order
Payment
I accept Paypal and money orders, but if you are interested in paying by some other method, you can contact me to inquire.

I expect payments to be completed within 3 days of purchase, but I understand that sometimes things come up. If you have an issue, let me know and I will work with you. Additionally, I am willing to reserve listings for later purchase for up to two weeks.
Shipping
I ship via USPS First Class or Priority mail within the United States, and via USPS First Class International for all others. Additional services (such as insurance, delivery confirmation, or express shipping) may be purchased at an additional cost, please contact me to arrange this.
Refunds and Exchanges
Due to the nature of body jewelry, I do not accept returns for any jewelry, unless it is damaged or defective. This means that if you have an adverse reaction to the material or a piece doesn't fit you, you may not return it for a refund. Be sure to understand all the material information provided and be sure about what size you need before you purchase. If you have questions regarding fit, materials, or anything else, I will be glad to address them.
Additional policies and FAQs
Did you know that I will wrap the wearable surface of your ear weights in string for you for no extra charge? This is advisable if you intend to wear your weights in naked lobes (i.e. not through a tunnel or earskin). Metals such as brass and copper can cause irritation and discoloration to your lobes, but string will prevent this, and it looks pretty snazzy, too. Leave a message in the "Notes to Seller" box at checkout to request string-wrapping!
