First. The package was delivered timely. Second the work on this is done very nicely. Third, the sack is adorable! (My daughter in law is going to love it!!). And finally, I got a small treat and a thank you note which made it all even better. I will definitely order from this shop again. Thank you, so much.

About

How Did You Get From San Francisco to Switzerland?

Here's the deal ... I was born and raised in the Bay Area of San Francisco, California and I met my husband in university. We both have always wanted to travel and possibly live in a foreign country. Our first stop after we moved away from California was North Carolina. We lived in the Raleigh area for almost 8 years before my husband was offered an ex-pat assignment in the Netherlands (Holland). We leaped at the chance to live in a new culture. We were very happy living in Holland and lived there, again, for almost 8 years. My husband was offered a new job and position at Swiss company so, again, we leaped at the chance to move to Switzerland where we currently live in Basel.

All the while of doing these relocations moves, my sewing has always been apart of my life. We have two beautiful grown daughters and now I have more time for my hobby to be shared with world in my Etsy shop. I have been sewing all of my life and quilting for over 20 years.

Then about 5 years ago, a quilting friend came to visit me while I was still living in The Netherlands. She brought her knitting to keep her busy on the long flight. I asked if she could teach me and I was off learning a whole new fiber craft. I am now a knitter as well who loves bags! In my home there is always something on the needles and on the machine. My hands are never still.

So for the time being, Sarah's Cotton Patch will be in Basel, Switzerland until the next relocation move pops up. I am told that this shouldn't be for a very long time - which I gotta say is alright with me. Just as long as I have my quilting supplies with me ...

Shipping
I am trying hard to keep my shipping fees as low as possible for my customers. The best deal by far is for me to travel into Germany to ship orders.

FOR THE LARGE QUILTS LISTED - because of the size of the packages tracking comes standard from "Deutsche Post" (German Post) when shipping overseas

EVERYTHING ELSE - listed in my shop, you have the option for for standard shipping or Shipping Upgrade is possible.

If any shipping fees are owed to you, of course I will refund you the amount.

With this being said, I assume no responsibility for receipt of merchandise once it leaves my hands at the post office.

Additional information:

For Germany, I will post your package at normal, priority German postal rates.

For Switzerland, I will post your package at normal, priority Swiss postal rates and will mail within Switzerland - not Germany.

Note to Regarding Duty Fees:

All customs and duty charges must be paid by customer at time of receipt.

Here’s my personal version of how international shipping and duty fees work – let me be clear that this is from my own experience and personal online shopping.

I have been living outside of the United States for almost 11 years. The majority of my shopping is now conducted online – it saves time while I am visiting friends and family while back in the United States and also provides me the things that I truly want. I have become quite friendly with postal systems in the countries that I reside.

I have found that most things that carry a value of more than 50 US dollars, 50 Euros and 50 Swiss Francs will incur duty fees. As of this posting, I have never been a charged duty fee for items under this amount. Also shipping is NOT included in this 50-money value.

When filling out the required custom forms, I have been honest about the content and value of the items contained in the package. I do not have to fill out forms for the EU as I post my packages in Germany.

If you have any questions about shipping to your destination, please do not hesitate in reaching out to me via the Etsy’s Conversations.
