About

5 Sisters Sewing Sassy Bags!

If you have seen our profile picture you might be wondering, "Are they really all sisters?" the answer is, yes, we are. We, along with our parents, two brothers, and sister in law make up the Sassy Sparrow team. We started this business in 2011 and it's been a crazy ride! We enjoy working together and we each have our own important individual roles in the day to day working of the business.
So pour yourself a cup of tea, take your time, and take a look around our shop. We are so glad you stopped by!

Shop members

  • Hannah

    Owner, Production Manager, Designer

Hannah, the oldest daughter was married to Drew in 2015 and is learning to juggle the roles of being a new wife, piano teacher, and running a business with her sisters. She cuts every piece and pattern of the bags, and plugs in wherever she can help.

  • Lydia

    Owner, Music Curator, Designer

Lydia runs the serger, pieces the bags together, attaches the leather straps, and also has the very important role of music controller. Because if the music stops, work stops.

  • Grace

    Photographer, Creator, Owner

Grace is our jack of all trades. In the midst of pursuing a music degree, she does the majority of the sewing, posts on instagram, and does our blogging. She's our go to girl whenever we need something done

  • Leah

    Shipper, Leatherwork, Owner

Leah is still in High School so her typical day includes, school, music, attaching leather straps to the bags, she is also learning how to do the accounting for the business and runs Etsy on a day to day basis.

  • Naomi

    Inventory Manager, Quality Inspector, Owner

Naomi is also still in school so she does her school, music, presses our leather labels, keeps track of inventory, and snips, quality inspects, and tags all of our bags.

  • Bethany

    Designer, Owner

Bethany, the wife to our brother Jacob lives in Texas with their two adorable kiddos. But she always has ideas and encouragement for us and we are hoping that one of these day they will move back home to Illinois so we can really tap into her talent!

  • Denny

    Owner, Assistant, Booth Construction Manager

Dad is our go to guy when we need anything made construction wise. And he is always on call to service and fix our machines when we give up on figuring it out ourselves! He travels with us, helps design our booth, and we couldn't do it without him.

  • Pam

    Owner, Customer Service

Pam is the lady that enables us to continue this business. She keeps all of the administrative plates spinning while also homeschooling Leah and Naomi.

  • Jacob

    Assistant

Jacob is our resident realist. He keeps us grounded and keeps it real. Jacob is married to Bethany and they live in Texas with their two small children so as of now his role is mainly to advise and cheer us on.

  • Alex

    Marketer, Business Advisor

Alex is in charge of keeping our business on the right track to achieve our goals. He makes sure we reevaluate our business plans every once in a while to keep us on track.

  • Drew

    Assistant

Drew has his own business making beautiful tables but he still makes time to help us by creating props for our booth and traveling with us to our shows and carrying said (heavy) props!
